Zuii Makeup Review

Zuii Makeup was so generous to send me a sampling of their goodies.  If you’re not familiar with the line, allow me to introduce you.  Zuii Makeup is an Australian all natural makeup company.  Even though they are made in Australia, their products aren’t hard to find here in the states.

Here is a quick description of this eco makeup line:

Zuii has embraced the essence of nature with a unique blend of Certified Organic Flora products and ingredients to nurture, protect and improve the health of your skin and the Earth.

Zuii’s timeless and evolving colour palette is created with the benefits of organic floral ingredients, essential oils, vitamins and minerals to allow you to create any look you desire.

Zuii’s products are not tested on animals, and contain no petrochemicals, no parabens, no talc, and no GM ingredients.  They also are non-nano and gluten free.  Not only that but they’re also non-nano, gluten free and vegan friendly.  Something not all makeup lines can say.  My only caveat with the Zuii Makeup line would be the essential oils that are used in the formulas.  All their makeup as somewhat of a floral scent.  They are natural of course, but some people still can struggle with fragrance of any kind.  If this is you, I suggest getting samples first.  I love that this line is so vast as well.  You really wouldn’t need to search any further for additional products.  It feels like a mainstream line but natural and pure.

So they sent me quite a bit of product and I want to tell you all about it…so let’s get to it!

Foundation Primer-

This primer feels like a really lightweight lotion when you put it on.  It quickly seeps in, leaving your skin feeling hydrated and nourished.  It helped my foundation to glide on smoother and filled in my skin-creating an even canvas.  My skin looked dewier using it. I didn’t feel like it filled in my fine lines like some primers, but it definitely gave me a more polished look.  $34.95

Liquid Foundation-

I wasn’t sure how I felt about this foundation at first.  It’s a lighter foundation, and doesn’t provide as much coverage as I’m used too.  They actually market it as a medium foundation, which I agree with.  It’s not super light but not heavy.  However, once I started pairing it with the pressed powder foundation they gave me, I quickly loved it and keep reaching for it even now.  It gave me a smooth look, but didn’t look cakey with the powder added.  The consistency feels like a heavier tinted moisturizer-but with a bit more coverage.  If you don’t like a ton of coverage, but like looking even and polished, this may be your gem.  I have the color Natural Ivory. $44.95

Pressed Powder Foundation-

As I mentioned above I started using this with the liquid foundation and loved it.  I really love this powder!  For starters, it’s amazing that it’s a pressed powder, most natural mineral powders are loose and usually a bit messy.  Second, it glides on so smooth and makes the application so quick and effortless.  As a mom this has been such an easy product to just throw in my makeup bag, and do quick touch up without the thought of Finley spilling it because it’s a loose powder.  I’ve used it by itself too, but I always conceal with RMS Beauty “Un” Coverup as well.  If you like a mineral powder and prefer a pressed, then you’ll love this one!  $59.95

Fresh Quad Eyeshadow Palette-

I had tried Zuii’s shadows before they sent me product, so I knew I already loved them.  They offer such great pigment, are pressed and not loose(again no mess), and have a variety of colors to choose from.  The shadows also last and go on smoothly.  I never have eyeshadow that falls underneath my eye…you ladies know what I’m talking about! They remind me a lot of mainstream MAC shadows that I used to love(don’t worry gone are the days.)  I was excited to try a quad palette out from Zuii.  The Fresh palette is the perfect palette for brown eyes, like myself.  The colors in it are Fudge- a nice dark brown, Grapefruit- a brighter red orange, Rich Gold- a traditional gold color, and Chestnut- a neutral cream.  Some days I would wear just the Chestnut all over, and some days I would add some Fudge or for a little drama add some Grapefruit, or Rich Gold.  Either way, they all flowed so well and could easily be dressed up or down.  I loved taking this with me too when traveling-so much easier than trying to bring all individual sized eyeshadows.  If those colors don’t suit your fancy they have many other color options.  They also have duo shadows as well.  $49.50

Granite Volume Mascara

I was actually pleasantly surprised by the mascara.  It has a traditional bristle brush(which I love).  The formula is more goopy and pigmented too.  You can really notice mascara on your lashes and it’s a very buildable formula.  It definitely gave my lashes volume.  It was a little wetter of a formula, which I didn’t love about it.  For me, it didn’t harden as much as I would have liked after putting it on.  However, considering it hit most of the marks I would give it a 7 out of 10.  It didn’t give me drama/big lashes but just really nice looking lashes.  It did remove really easy, which I loved too.  They have another mascara as well called Maxi Lash Mascara, it’s more for length and separation.  $29.50

 Sheerlips Lipstick-

Zuii sent me three of these.  One color was Ruby- a bright orange red.  Another was Austin- a true coral.  And the final color was Lily- a bright cherry coral.  I really like all the colors they sent.  Ruby is a little more daring/eccentric but it’s fun to play up.  Austin is the perfect coral that I could see myself wearing in the spring and summer.  Lily is really more of an everyday color that goes with anything.  What I love about their Sheerlips is the ability to layer them.  You can swipe it once on your lips for a more natural look or several times to deepen the color.  The’re also super moisturizing.  Oh and they stay on too!  I definitely recommend these for those with dry lips who like versatility in a lip product.  $31.50

Lipstick-

They sent me one lipstick in the color Plum.  I absolutely love this color!  It’s the perfect fall/winter shade.  I had already tried their lipstick in the past, and knew I liked the formula.  It’s creamy but feels like a traditional lipstick.  They don’t bleed at all either.  I put this on in the morning and by afternoon it hasn’t budged…my kind of lipstick. Their lipsticks are much more pigmented than their sheerlips, but not as moisturizing as sheerlips.  I like them both for different purposes! $29.95

Cream Makeup Remover

I was really intrigued by their makeup remover.  I’m always on the lookout for a natural remover.  This one has more of a lotion feel to it.  You apply it on and then wipe off.  I liked removing my face makeup with it but not my eye makeup.  It would sting my eyes every time I used it around my eye area.  I was bummed because as you all know, mascara is one of the hardest things to get off.  But I still use it for my face makeup and even my lips and it works great.  If you have sensitive eyes I would get a sample before committing to a full size.  $22.50makeup_remover__18698.1397715975.386.220
