You all know I’m a big fan of the Glowing Beet’s green beauty subscription box. This is my second box and I’ve been loving it! One thing I have loved about Glowing Beets is the new brands it has introduced me too. Brands I might not have heard of otherwise. It always has a variety of beauty products too. Some makeup, facial skincare and even body care. If you haven’t heard of them before, and you’re curious how the subscription works, then let me explain.
Why Glowing Beets? Well, for starters they include high quality indie brands and they make it so simple. Their website alone is so easy to navigate and browse. They have one box, it’s $29.95-a steal for high end green beauty products. The boxes are all the same, but may vary slightly. For ex. some boxes may get a different lipstick color, but they’re all from the same brand. All boxes are shipped at the end of the month once you’re a subscriber, and if you order during the month it will be shipped out within a few days, up until the 15th of the month. You can sign up for one box, otherwise you will be billed monthly.
I love the concept of Glowing Beets for those who are new to the green beauty scene. They give you a good selection of products, so you’re able to test them out without making a big commitment at first. They also offer special discounts to those brands if you do like them-how cool is that?! Glowing Beets does the research for the best product so you don’t have too. They include a card in each box that lists what the products are. I have received two boxes from them and I’ve loved each of them!
Here’s my review of the November box:
I was so excited to get Little Barn Apothecary in my box this last month! I had been hearing rave reviews about the line, and couldn’t wait to test it out. I received the travel sized version of their Charcoal+Aloe Face Cleanser, which is so cute and the perfect size for travel. It comes in a glass bottle with a pump-another bonus. It foams when you use it but isn’t drying. It also looks like tar when you pump it out-haha but it’s not! It smells minty with a charcoal twist…if possible. If you aren’t familiar with the benefits of charcoal-let me explain. Charcoal has long been used to treat alcohol poisoning or drug overdoes internally. It’s been known to attach itself to toxins, and impurities and draw them out. For skin, it’s no different. It attaches itself to dirt and brings it to the surface. After using this cleanser, my skin felt clean and balanced. Aloe is the main ingredient, and it is so calming and soothing. If you have problematic/inflamed skin or just want a cleanser that suds, but doesn’t leave you feeling dry this is a great option. $22
This is similar to a toner but a little different still. You use it after cleansing. Just spray a few pumps all over your face to help brighten and hydrate skin. The bamboo in it is known for it’s moisturizing properties, and the spearmint is a known brightener. I didn’t love the smell. It reminded me of a Febreeze smell-very fresh laundry. I like how it felt on my skin, but the smell bothered me too much to use it everyday. I wish I could smell the mint a little more, since you all know I’m a mint lover! $16
Ohh, I loved this little cleansing balm! I received a small sample of this in my box and it’s all gone. This stuff is so soothing and calming. The perfect cleanser for dry/irritated skin, and especially great for the winter season. It’s just like the name suggests-a balm. You scoop it out and apply to slightly damp skin. Then take a warm washcloth and remove it. My makeup came off effortlessly, yes even my eye-makeup! It’s chockfull of hydrating and healing oils. My skin literally drank it up. As you all know I’m an avid double cleanser, so after starting with the cleansing balm, I then followed with the Little Barn Apothecary Charcoal Cleanser. The perfect duo. My skin felt baby soft and so clean. I’m convinced everyone needs this little balm-it’s so good! The smell is a mix of essential oils, but the ones that stuck out to me were chamomile and clove. It’s also gluten and cruelty free and vegan. $45
I was beyond excited to receive this in my box-eek! I had heard so much about this coveted serum. It has prickly pear seed oil in it which has been known as one of the most anti-aging oils out there. I just received a small sample, which is also gone. I actually like reviewing the sample size. It gave me enough to test out, and see how my skin did with it. Now, I know how much I love it, and it’s a product I would definitely purchase. There was no wasting a good serum, if it didn’t work for my skin. I love the smell of this serum, and the way it just melts into your skin. There is no oily residue. My skin felt balanced and brighter the next day, and my forehead lines seemed to be minimized! A definite must buy for those looking for an anti-aging serum that actually performs. I’m hoping to do a full review on a larger bottle soon, but for now this is a definite fave! $95
Can you eat soap? Well, that’s what I wanted to do with this bad boy! First of all, when I opened my package, the smell of this amazing soap just enveloped my senses-in the best way possible. It smells just like the name suggests, like pumpkin pie. These soaps are handcrafted, and full of only the pure stuff. They’re free of gluten, dyes, parabens, phthalates, sulfates and cruelty free. They’re also super moisturizing. I stepped out of the shower with not only clean skin, but soft skin. Their pumpkin pie bar soap has real pumpkin puree, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin spice. Can you say yum?! I received a sample size and it’s gone. My hubs was a fan too! It even came in the cutest little cotton bag. If you’re looking for decadent soaps that are free of all the nasties, look no further than Sweet Emotions Soaptions & Potions. $9.95
I’m sure you have all heard my obsession with this lipstick. Guys, it’s a real thing! I had been searching for the perfect red lipstick for a long time, and little did I know I would find it in my Glowing Beet’s Box. It’s the perfect red. Not too bright, not too orange or cherry-but just the right blend. It’s a more classic red. I also didn’t realize how much I would love the Fit Glow Beauty lipsticks. They are moisturizing but not overly, where you feel like you’re wearing a gloss. And the staying power…amazing! I’ve put it on at 5pm for a holiday party, and it’s still there at 10pm at night. I now need these in every color. Did I mention they’re also gluten free and full of nourishing oils? Yeah, they’re pretty great. If you’ve seen me in person lately, you’ve probably seen me wearing this lipstick…its the best! $19.76
This scrub smells like coffee and orange-a great combo! I just received a small packet-so this stuff was gone quick. As most of you know, coffee has long been used to target cellulite and give the skin a firmer appearance. It also is a great exfoliant for the skin because it’s a mechanical exfoliant versus a chemical exfoliant. It improves circulation too. This not only has coffee grounds, but also moisturizing oils and brown sugar in it. The directions said to get your body slightly damp in the shower, and then turn off the water and apply the scrub. Once you scrubbed really well, leave it on for 5-10 minutes and then wash off. My skin felt refreshed and moisturized. But not greasy. It was like having a morning cup of coffee, but without the jitters! $40
