Ok, who’s ready for Spring?! I was ready yesterday. This cold weather has me craving warmer weather and longer days. Thankfully, March is officially here and I can almost taste Spring. February’s Glowing Beet’s Box reminded me of spring scents and glossy lips. For now that will have to do. The box was filled with some seriously hydrating body butter, body oil and a cute makeup bag and lipgloss. Oh and I can’t forget an eye serum-um have I mentioned I have two kids, two and under? Yeah, give me all the eye cream/serums! Before I dive into this box, let me share with you what Glowing Beet’s is all about.
Why Glowing Beets? Well, for starters they include high quality indie brands and they make it so simple. Their website alone is so easy to navigate and browse. They have one box, it’s $29.95-a steal for high end green beauty products. The boxes are all the same, but may vary slightly. For ex. some boxes may get a different lipstick color, but they’re all from the same brand. All boxes are shipped at the end of the month once you’re a subscriber, and if you order during the month it will be shipped out within a few days, up until the 15th of the month. You can sign up for one box, otherwise you will be billed monthly.
I love the concept of Glowing Beets for those who are new to the green beauty scene. They give you a good selection of products, so you’re able to test them out without making a big commitment at first. They also offer special discounts to those brands if you do like them-how cool is that?! Glowing Beets does the research for the best products so you don’t have too. They include a card in each box that lists what the products are.
Ok, onto the review!
Rachel’s Plan Bee
I’ve wanted to try Rachel’s Plan Bee products for a while now, so I was excited to see them in this month’s Glowing Beet’s Box. This organic body butter is rich and decadent. It smells of citrus and grapefruit but isn’t overwhelming at all. I really like the scent! I applied it after I got out of the shower and my skin soaked it right up. My skin felt soft and moisturized but not greasy. It looks like a rich buttercream frosting in the container-something I can wrap my head around! Body frosting needs to be a thing…or maybe it already is?? Either way this body butter is a serious skin treat.
Rachel’s Plan Bee Body Oil is such a complement to the body butter. I actually applied the body oil before the body butter for the ultimate hydration experience. The oil soaks right into the skin. My skin feels moist but not greasy. The scent is very similar to the body butter except instead of citrus and grapefruit, it’s citrus and vanilla. Such a pleasant scent! I love that it comes in a smaller bottle too-great for travel. My skin felt hydrated the whole day-especially with this cold winter.
HAN Lip Gloss-
I’ve tried a few of HAN’s products and have really liked their eyeshadows and lip and cheek tints. This is the first time I’m sampling their lip gloss. I got the color in Nude Rose- the perfect subtle mauve color, and a great everyday color-seriously would go with anything. I love the consistency of the gloss. It has shine to it but isn’t goopy. A great formula for wearing to work and not drawing every eye in the building-if you know what I mean! You may also get the gloss in Raspberry Chardonnay- a bright poppy pink color. They’re both so pretty and not overly stated-something I love in a lip gloss.
Boho Chic Cosmetic’s Makeup Bag-
It was so fun getting a makeup bag in the box! It’s the perfect size for a purse-not too big or bulky. Their makeup bags are handmade with organic fabric- a serious eco luxe bag! The patterns are so pretty and the colors so vivid and bright. Such a nice addition to the February box!
Freerange Skincare Aloe & Cucumber Eye Serum-
Last month Freerange had their hand lotion in the box. This month it’s all about their eye serum. The eye serum couldn’t have come at a better time! This mama could use a little lift in the eye department. A 6 month old and 2 year old don’t stop and sometimes I’m burning the candle at both ends. This eye serum can be worn alone or under makeup. It feels cooling when you apply it and smells like cucumbers-an instant pick me up in the morning! With only a handful of ingredients, one of them is a free range egg white. It’s interesting to see an egg white in an egg serum but there’s good reason why they put it in there! Here’s a quote from their website about using egg white as an ingredient-
Egg Whites from well-cared for hens are a natural astringent -they contain nutrients that tone and tighten delicate under eye skin and provides instant impact.
Pretty cool to realize nature has so many nutrients to help even with our delicate eye area! Excited to continue using this and see brighter and more restful eyes.
That sums up my Glowing Beet’s February Box Review! See anything you need to try? Well, if you haven’t signed up then get on it! This box always offers a little variety, from skincare, hair products, and makeup. Check out Glowing Beet’s here and use code GGG10 for 10% off your first box!
