Beauty Heroes November Discovery: Ayuna

Beauty Heroes November Discovery: Ayuna is in the house and it’s so good!  I was excited to see this luxe brand in this month’s box.  I had sampled it at IBE in Dallas and couldn’t wait to dive into it deeper.  This brand is in a league of it’s own with their quality products and their less is more approach to skincare.  Before I dive into this luxe skincare line, let me first introduce you to Beauty Heroes.

Beauty Heroes was founded by Jeannie Jarnot.  A longtime spa director herself and healthy beauty expert.  I had the pleasure of meeting Jeannie at IBE, and she is truly one of the sweetest people.  Beauty Heroes is a monthly beauty service that selects only the best clean beauty brands.  Each month you can find one to two full size truly heroic products in each box.  The products typically range from skincare to haircare products.  However, every 3 months Beauty Heroes offers a makeup box as well that’s optional for members or non-members.  I absolutely love their “Use Less, Love More” philosophy.  By only getting one or two products, you allow yourself to truly experience them.  Of course you can trust their picks, as they are strict on their integrity standards.  What’s not to love about this whole concept?  As a Beauty Heroes Ambassador, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be part of such a movement.

Ok, on to Ayuna.

I really was intrigued by the whole concept of Ayuna.  As I mentioned above, it really is giving your skin quality ingredients but less products overall.  I love the simplistic approach.  It reminds me of a capsule wardrobe oddly.  You may have less pieces but they’re great quality so they fit you better and look better than if you had more.  That’s how I feel about Ayuna.  The products are few but they are so luxurious and active that you don’t need more.

The name Ayuna means to literally fast.  This concept is really what the skincare line is based off of.  Giving the skin only what it needs and starving it of toxins.  This is something the founders of Ayuna know a thing or two about.  Having over 40 years of experience between them both, Begona- an esthetician and Isabel- a cosmetic chemist really know skincare.  After having seen it all, they realized what was missing was a simplified and affective approach to skincare.  They created 5 products for their line.  Although, there may be only 5, they are effective and active.  When products work, you don’t need a ton of extras.

I was privileged to try 3 of their products in this month’s Beauty Heroes Box.  The heroic product this month is the Essence.  It’s a cream and peel in one.  There are 3 phases.  The first phase it is a proteic exfoliant, based in Alpha-amino acids.  This phase really renews your skin.  The next phase a gommage(which is a European term for exfoliation) that polishes the skin and gives it a rejuvenated appearance.  The last phase leaves your skin with an olive oil residue that nourishes the skin and leaves it bright and hydrated.  This product doesn’t play.

My experience with Essence-

I would put this on dry skin and then wait 5 minutes.  Then I would roll it off with my fingers.  It’s very different than anything I’ve used before.  I would then wipe any excess off with a wash cloth.  My skin felt renewed, brighter and more even.  Plus, it was so soft.  I was amazed at what took place in so little time and with no effort on my part.  Such an amazing product!  Many exfoliants can leave my skin feeling dry but not the Essence.

The side kick products this month were the Soap and Cream II.  The Soap is unlike any soap I’ve used.  Traditional soaps typically dry out my skin and leave it almost feeling cracked.  But the Soap by Ayuna is entirely different.  It suds up into a foam and cleans all my makeup and dirt from the day effortlessly, while at the same time leaving my skin hydrated.  It’s made from a combination of borage, olive oil and coconut oil.  The formula also includes a botanical Activated Carbon that helps to eliminate toxins.  I could use it around my eyes to remove my eye makeup but I just couldn’t open them, otherwise it would sting.

The second side kick is the Cream II.  It is an extremely moisturizing face cream that leaves your skin completely hydrated to the core.  I found it fascinating that it contained phyto-peptides.  Peptides are a type of amino acid that help to build collagen in the body, which in turn makes the skin look healthy and young.  The Cream II is richer and more hydrating than their Cream I. I would apply this at night and wake up with skin that felt baby soft and calm.  I felt it helped even out my redness.  It really is an amazing cream.  Many creams don’t do much other than hydrate, but this one far exceeds that.

This month’s Beauty Heroes value is $203!  I know crazy.  I would snag this as soon as you can!  What a great Christmas present idea too.  You can get November’s Ayuna box here.

Also, this month be sure to check out the Beauty Heroes Beauty Store.  Full of past heroic products and a ton of other green beauty must have items.  If you’re already a member of Beauty Heroes you always get 15% off in the Beauty Store.  Every month Beauty Heroes offers a Love More Promotion.  This offer is for non-members and members.
