Beauty Heroes: April Discovery de Mamiel

Beauty Heroes is sharing a stellar product combo this month with de Mamiel!

This was such a unique brand to get to try out this month! How often is it that you get to try out a line that is made by a Chinese medicine doctor, aromatherapist, esthetician, artisan, teacher and formulator- pretty awesome!  I was intrigued right there but even more so when I understood that the basis of the line is also centered around stress.  From physical stress, to emotional stress and chemical stress.  

I admire the attention to detail with the line.  The founder Annee really focuses on treating the skin both externally and internally. Each product is handmade and carefully sourced.  I love her whole approach!  I feel this is the way skincare is going and trending.  It’s no longer another product to apply to the skin but a whole body approach to skincare and how overall wellbeing is the answer. 

Heroic Product Brightening Cleanse & Exfoliate- This is such a unique product!  I was excited when I read about it’s many uses.  It can be an exfoliant, mask, skin soother and more.  It just depends on what you need it for.  I also love that it’s not activated until you mix water with it!  Since it’s a powder it doesn’t need any preservatives.  So you’re getting the most potent version of the product the minute water touches it- brilliant!  The ingredient list is substantial.  With rhassoul and rose clay, vitamin C, colloidal oat, rose quartz and red jasper just to name a few.  It’s loaded with active ingredients that really do the work for you.  You can use it as a cleanser and exfoliant or you can use it as a mask and leave it on your skin for 10 minutes. 

It brightened my skin, helped to minimize redness, ease congestion and overall create more even skin tone.  I just mixed a teaspoon of the powder into my hand and then added a few drops of water to it.  I ended up with this pasty goodness that can be a little messy but I don’t mind! 😉  I find messy often means beautiful.  I loved leaving it on my skin in the mornings as I brushed my teeth to help give my skin a glow and take away ruddiness.  You can use it everyday if you’re skin can tolerate it but some may prefer 1-3 times a week if they’re skin is sensitive. Such an all around all star product!

Sidekick: Skin Recovery Blend- This balm is definitely a noteworthy product.  When I saw that it was blue in color and caught a whiff of the smell I knew it contained blue tansy- one of my favorite oils.  It’s known for it’s calming and soothing benefits.  It feels so cooling on the skin as well.  Besides blue tansy, the balm also contains a host of other powerhouse oils from Cape Chamomile, Blue Cypress, Yarrow, and German Chamomile.  Overall the balm helps to calm inflammation, clarify acne prone skin, protect the skin from environmental stress and also plump and minimize fine lines. Definitely a multitasker!  I loved applying this at night after my serums to help soothe and moisturize my skin.  It just sunk in and felt light, even though it is a balm.  My skin felt so hydrated the next day and supple.  The smell and texture are so good!  Definitely more than a sidekick in my book.

Boxwalla April Box-

This is a bi-monthly box. I really love that it’s bi-monthly!  It makes you really savor each product.  This month we are seeing two different brands in the box.  Flowerspice and Malaya.  

Flowerspice Soothe and Repair Daily Moisturizer- This moisturizer is so lovely!  It completely hydrates your skin but doesn’t leave it feeling greasy or oily.  The scent is so nice too.  Very different but I love it.  It’s a mixture of rose and coriander.  It comes in a glass jar.  I would scoop some out and apply it to my skin after my serums at night.  My skin would feel so hydrated and supple in the morning.  I even have been using it for my hands as they have been drier and loving how moisturized they feel.  This isn’t your average moisturizer.  It’s filled with aloe, prickly pear and Swiss Mountain Spring Water.  A serious treat for the skin!

Malaya  Advanced Repair Mask- This mask is unlike any mask I’ve used. It is both clarifying and nourishing at the same time.  Made with neem flower honey, bentonite clay and aloe, this mask really is a powerhouse when it comes to hitting all the skincare needs.  I love how my skin feels cleared, yet hydrated and glowing after using it.  And the smell!  I just love the smell.  It’s a lemongrass, blue tansy smell that I can’t get enough of!  I love how the ingredients are soothing like aloe and blue tansy, but at the same time clarifying from the honey, and clay.  Can’t stop using it!

The Clean Beauty Box: April Balance-

We are seeing WabiSabi in this month’s Clean Beauty Box!

This month is all about balance in The Clean Beauty Box.  From the Illuminative Ritual Cleanser to the Balancing Act.  Wabisabi as a brand cares very much about where ingredients come from.  Sourcing is of high importance to them.  Not only for sustainability but for ethical reasons and ensuring all workers are treated fairly.  Something I love about the brand!

They use organic and wildcrafted ingredients that are active.  I love that they donate 10% of their profits to Kiva micro-loans that provide for women.  These loans help women across the world to have the option to live out their purpose and dreams- how cool!

Illuminative Ritual Cleanser- This cleanser is such a skin treat.  It’s an oil cleanser that gets rid of all the grime and dirt from the day.  It smells like coffee to me!  It has roasted coffee bean oil and cacao in it.  Also, Moringa Oil and Rosella Hibiscus Oil.  I massage it on to dry skin and rub in circular motions to release the dirt and oil.  Then I take a warm washcloth and wipe it off.  It doesn’t sting my eyes at all.  My skin felt balanced and not stripped after using.

Balancing Act– This is a serum but in rollerball form.  Something I haven’t seen before.  This is actually a pre-launch specifically with The Clean Beauty Box.  This offers both Omega-3 and Omega-6 to help soothe the skin and calm inflammation.  You can wear this underneath your makeup during the day or at night after cleansing and toning.  I just rolled it onto my skin and then blended it.  It contains Guava Seed Oil, Sacha Inchi Seed Oil, Borage Seed Oil and Brazilian Tiger’s Eye.  A skin treat for sure!

Detox Box For April-

This month in the April Detox Box we are seeing Indie Lee!  I’ve used a handful of Indie Lee’s products and was excited to see this natural beauty brand in the box.  This skincare line is based around nature but backed by science.  Indie Lee uses some of the best natural ingredients to deliver results driven skincare.

Daily Skin Nutrition- This everyday lotion is perfect to apply to your skin daily, in the morning and at night to hydrate your skin.  It leaves it feeling moisturized but not greasy.  Some of the powerhouse ingredients include squalene, rosehip seed, olive and avocado oil.  Plus vitamin C and the moisture boosting hyaluronic acid!  A serious skin lover’s dream. My skin felt nourished but not overly hydrated.  Perfect before applying your makeup for the day.

Daily Vitamin Infusion- This serum is so lovely!!  It includes an array of plant oils and ceramides and lipids that help to bring moisture to the skin and protect barrier function.  It also has vitamin C!  I loved how this felt on my skin.  I would apply it at night and in the morning.  It feels like a big gulp of water for my skin and acted like a primer before I applied my makeup.  I can’t get enough!  My skin felt so dewy, soft and smooth.  If you struggle to really get your skin to feel hydrated this would be perfect to apply before your oils at night or night cream.  Then in the morning right after cleansing and toning to hydrate the skin before makeup.  It just fills in all the cracks so well.  New fave!  

Rosehip Cleanser- This cleanser washes off all the grime for the day and makeup but leaves my skin feeling balanced still.  It’s not a cream cleanser but more of a gel consistency.  It definitely gives your skin the clean feeling all around but without stripping it.  Rosehip is so soothing and really helps to calm the skin.  It was a great compliment to the Daily Vitamin Infusion and Daily Skin Nutrition.
