I have had many people ask me if I know of any affordable mattresses that use organic materials. Well, I searched and found My Green Mattress. It is not only squeaky clean when it comes to its natural materials and sourcing but also easy on the wallet! Basically, I struck gold because there is something for the whole family. I love that My Green Mattress is a family-owned business. Tim, the founder created the mattress because his young daughter Emily suffered from eczema and environmental allergies. Tim wanted a mattress that was pure and healthy, with no harmful chemicals, for his children. Therefore My Green Mattress was born. An honest American-owned company in Illinois. They also offer a risk-free 120-night sleep trial, which really was the icing on the cake for me. Many companies don’t stand by their mattresses like that. You literally get to try your new mattress out for 4 months and if you don’t like it during the trial you can return it. I love this about the company. I don’t know anyone else willing to make sure that the money spent on an organic mattress can be insured.

Like I said above, when I’m searching for a mattress I want to make sure it’s certified organic. Then I know it’s met third-party testing and is free from harmful chemicals. Look for the labels, GOTS, GOLS, and GREENGUARD GOLD.

My Green Mattress Natural Escape Review
Of course the My Green Mattress review wouldn’t be complete without sharing my experience. After looking at their mattresses I chose the My Green Mattress Natural Escape. I wanted something that would be more on the soft side and really offer the support I was looking for. The Natural Escape Mattress fit all my requirements. Plus, after talking with My Green Mattress it is their most luxurious mattress offered. When we got the mattress it was boxed tightly in plastic wrap. Setting it up was a cinch! My husband did it all. I created a little video I had shown on my Instagram stories to give you an idea. Check it out below!
It had an earthy straw-like smell when it came out of the box but we just aired it out for a couple of days and it went away. It wasn’t repulsive at all, just like it had come out of the factory.
So how does it feel when sleeping on it? I thought you would never ask! 😉 As my husband says- it’s super comfortable! The mattress actually came at the perfect time since I just had my third baby. My hubs had been sleeping on the couch off and on so he wouldn’t wake up when SJ woke up in the middle of the night. So instead of the couch, he started to sleep on the new mattress. I asked him for his thoughts. He said not only is it super comfortable but his back has never hurt when sleeping on it, it keeps him cool at night and he never wakes up. Now if you know my husband then this is saying a lot. He gets hot very easily and wakes up often when he is.
I second his sentiments. It feels very comfortable, I feel like my whole body is supported at night and that I get a deep sleep. I was concerned it might be a too firm mattress, but it isn’t at all. I’ve heard great things about their organic latex topper. And I initially thought about getting one as well, but really I don’t think I even need one. Maybe down the road but it feels so nice without it. I would recommend trying it out first without it and then seeing if you need a mattress topper once you sleep on it for several nights.
I can’t recommend My Green Mattress enough! The whole experience has been great. I love how family-friendly they are and affordable. The mattress we got is over half the price of our organic mattress in our bedroom and my husband said he likes it just as much!
