Best Heated Eyelash Curler: Our Top Picks!

If you are on the hunt for an effective way to improve your lashes with minimal effort, then look no further. I am bringing you the very best when it comes to heated eyelash curlers - the next step in getting the lashes you have always dreamed of:)

To be honest I had never used a traditional eyelash curler, let alone a heated eyelash curler!  My lashes have always had a natural curl to them, and I haven’t needed much else…or so I thought.

But as the good clean beauty blogger that I am I wanted to test out some of the best heated eyelash curlers to bring you all some options.  After all, a beauty blogger always has to be on the up and up!

I did some research trying to find the best heated eyelash curlers to test out.  I wanted to make sure they had some amazing reviews but also weren’t going to break the bank.  Plus, I wanted to give you a few top picks so you had options.

Grande Lash Lift Heated Eyelash Curler

Grande Lash-Lift

The Grande Cosmetics Lash Lift Heated Eyelash Curler is my top pick for a heated eyelash curler! It hit all the marks and worked so well for me. Plus it’s known for not having lashes break from using it. The hottest setting gets hot enough for results, but not too hot to cause damage.

What To Consider When Choosing A Heated Eyelash Curler

This will really come down to personal preference. But when you start looking at different options for a heated lash curler you will notice some main differences between them. Below are some the options that I found that you can take into consideration before purchasing a heated eyelash curler.

  • Clamp vs. Wand- There are heated eyelash curler options that are a clamp style- more like the traditional eyelash curlers that most are familiar with although they don’t use the same force that you would expect. You will notice that I tested out all wand style eyelash curlers as those are the most commonly available heated eyelash curlers available.
  • Battery vs. rechargeable-  I tested out both rechargeable and battery operated heated eyelash curlers. Another consideration when choosing which brand you want to purchase.
  • Ready Alert- The eyelash curlers I tested were able to heat up fairly quickly in my opinion. However, if you choose one that has a ‘ready alert’ indicator, you will know for sure that the eyelash curler is ready to go. Also, depending on which brand you choose, their can be a variety of different temperature options (High vs. Low or some even have more temperature options)
  • Price- This goes with anything you purchase. Some of the heated eyelash curlers are more budget friendly and some are more expensive.

Is A Heated Eyelash Curler Bad For Your Eyelashes?

In the short term and if used correctly, no! But just like any heat when applied to your hair, if done in excess or at too high of temperature, then most likely, yes, you can cause damage. Less is always more if you aren’t sure.

A few things to consider to prevent any possible damage includes:

  • Limit Usage– A heated eyelash curler is not meant to be used daily.
  • Use Correctly- Follow the directions of the brand you have purchased.
  • Use The Lowest Heat Needed- You should definitely use the lowest heat setting the first time you use one. And, if the lowest heat option curls your lashes, then stick with that! No need to use the highest heat if a more gentle heat setting will get the job done.
  • Use a Lash Serum- This can help prevent any damage.

How To Use A Heated Eyelash Curler

The biggest question I hear when someone wants to start using a heated eyelash curler is: Do you put mascara on before or after using the heated eyelash curler?  This really is up to you and what you find works best for your lashes.  Some people feel like they get more lift by adding some mascara first and then using a heated eyelash curler, others don’t – it really depends on the types of lashes you are working with.

Also, there has been some concern that adding mascara before you use a heated eyelash curler can cause breakage to your lashes.  Personally, I’ve found it really depends on your lashes and how straight and coarse they are.  My lashes aren’t very coarse and I notice a dramatic difference by just curling them first without any mascara.  However, my sister has very straight, coarse lashes and she benefits from adding a little mascara.  Test both ways out and see what works best for you!

I like to turn my eyelash curler on right as I’m starting to do my makeup, that way by the time I get to my eyelashes- which is one of the last things I do, it’s heated up. Most eyelash curlers have at least 2 settings.  I like the set temperature to be the hottest setting, I’ve found it works best at giving my lashes some curl.

Once it’s heated up, use the heated eyelash curler on your lashes.  You will take the heated eyelash curler and press it for 5 to 10 seconds on the lash base then go up from roots to the tip of your lashes several times to really help exaggerate the curl and lock it in.  You can leave it with just your naked lashes or I would apply a couple coats of mascara once my lashes have been curled.  The more you use it and play with it, the more you get the hang of how to use it!  It’s really so easy.

JDO Heated Eyelash Curler

I really like how fast this eyelash curler heats up and that it has a smaller tip to get lift even in the corners of my eyes.  Even better is the 4 heat settings on it and only takes 8 seconds to heat up to the desired temperature!  You can really get some serious lift and curl from this eyelash curler.  It comes with a USB charger and automatically turns off after 5 minutes of use.  Another bonus is it will even save your previous temperature settings too!  My lashes really stayed curled the whole day which I loved.  I didn’t feel like they fell out of the curl.  Plus, you can find this on Amazon!  Get it here.

I had to have my sister test out this heated eyelash curler as well.  She has very straight eyelashes and always has to curl them if she wants any sort of lift.  I knew she would be a good person to test a heated eyelash curler out because she’s dealt with straight lashes her whole life. I bought her the JDO Heated Eyelash Curler and had her test it out too.  She was impressed with the overall lift of her lashes.  She could tell a difference when she used it, versus when she didn’t.  I even had her take a before and after photo (above) so you could see the difference in her eyes.  It’s kind of amazing the before and after!  It really does give her lashes lift and volume.

Be My Lady Heated Eyelash Curler does a a great job of separating the lashes too!

Be My Lady Heated Eyelash Curler

This heated eyelash curler is unique because the heat pads quickly relax and separate while applying heat.  So you get the added benefit of separation too!  It has 3 temperature settings and also has a USB charger.  It takes 10 seconds to heat up.

I wish the actual brush part was a little more narrow in the corners for optimal lift and curl.  Overall, this one worked great and did hold my curl the whole day.  It’s a little cheaper for a heated eyelash curler at $19.98.  Get it here.

The Panasonic Heated Eyelash Curler has a brush feature that is for helping to separate the lashes.

Panasonic Heated Eyelash Curler

This is the only heated eyelash curler that actually has more of a traditional lash brush on the end of it.  You can get 21 uses out of this heated eyelash curler.  It doesn’t come with a USB cord, but requires 2 AA batteries instead.

I thought I would like the brush feature on it for helping to separate lashes, but I actually don’t.  I find it doesn’t give my lashes the lift and curl that I get from other heated eyelash curlers.  It’s almost more difficult to use too- a little bulky feeling.  This was my least favorite heated eyelash curler out of all the ones I tested.  Get it here.

ZLime Electric Eyelash Curler is a budget friendly option that worked for me.

ZLime Electric Eyelash Curler

This eyelash curler has a wand that I love.  It’s similar to the JDO heated eyelash curler that I mentioned first.  It heats up within 10 seconds and has two temperature settings.  I always found the higher temperature setting to work better for my lashes in giving them some lift and curl.  It also comes with USB charging.

Definitely a more budget friendly option at $19.99.  I was impressed with it overall and liked how it held my curl and lift throughout the day. Get it here!

Grande Cosmetics LASH-LIFT Heated Eyelash Curler

This was a heated eyelash curler I had heard rave reviews about.  I couldn’t wait to try it!

It has adjustable temperature settings, a low and a high.  It has a curved brush that easily fits into the corners which I love.  I liked using the highest temperature setting to really lock in the curl and lift.  Even at the end of the day I could still notice the curl and lift!  It has a USB charger that comes with it too.

I really loved how well this heated eyelash curler worked!  It really hit all the marks and wasn’t too hot at all.  One of the things they’re known for is not having lashes break from using this which is awesome.  The hottest setting gets hot enough, but not too hot.

This is a little more spendy for a heated eyelash curler but worth it if you’re really wanting to protect your lashes and get something that is effective the whole day.  Get it here!

Are Heated Eyelash Curlers Better Than Regular Eyelash Curlers?

Personally, I’ve noticed more lift from using a heated eyelash curler than traditional lash curlers.  I’ve also noticed more hold and long-lasting results too.  Everyone is different but overall I love how my lashes look after using a heated eyelash curler!  They have more lift and my eyes seem bigger.

Conclusion: Are Heated Eyelash Curlers Worth It?

I would definitely recommend a heated eyelash curler!  I think they can be such a good option to give lashes a boost and take them to the next level in a matter of seconds.  Plus, they are a really good deal for what you get and easy to find since all of the ones I tested were from Amazon.  If you’re wanting to give your natural lashes an even more intense curl and lift, this will give you the best results and won’t damage your lashes long term.

      Hi Linda,

I think they’re worth it if you really love a more dramatic lash and have a hard time getting your lashes to curl. I would check out this one. It’s $20 and worked great for my lashes!
