As a seasoned green beauty blogger, esthetician, and hair stylist I would say I know a thing or two when it comes to natural beauty. I mean I’ve tried a few products in my day and by a few I mean 100’s! I really thought long and hard what I would recommend as a gift when it comes to clean beauty and what I would want. I ended up writing down several ideas and then narrowed them down to the absolute best. I had to have this in my top 20 clean beauty gifts 2020. This oil/serum came out this year and took the clean beauty world by storm! I have been using this for a while and definitely can speak to the overall experience of it. It contains the plant retinol bakuchiol which I’ve used before in other skincare products and it also contains moth bean extract- another plant derived retinol. But it also contains an advanced retinol using an encapsulated Retinol. This is a derivative of Vitamin A without BHT. BHT has been shown to cause live damage in rats even in small amounts. Plus, the supply chain with BHT is very unstable. Besides the powerful retinols it also contains Vitamin C and Vitamin E. These brighten the skin and help fade hyperpigmentation. 5. Beautycounter Eyeshadow Palettes-
If you’ve followed me for a long time then you know I’m a huge fan of Beautycounter’s eyeshadow palettes! These are the best eyeshadows in clean beauty- hands down. The pigments are rich and they last! I have all the palettes, plus their holiday palettes. I guess you could say I’m a hoarder when it comes to their eyeshadows. Can’t get enough. I recently discovered this cream a couple months ago and have been loving it. This has been the perfect moisturizer to add on top of my oils in the morning and at night for a little extra hydration. I even used this when we were up in the mountains sledding for the day and it kept my skin feeling so hydrated and protected. Not only does this cream moisturize but also provide great anti-aging benefits with it’s naturally rich antioxidants. It seeps into my skin so well, and doesn’t feel greasy. 7. Mukti Organics 2-in-1 Resurfacing Exfoliant-
My clean beauty skincare routine just got a whole lot better with this product! I was introduced to it back in April’s Beauty Heroes box and I haven’t been able to stop using it- obsessed! The exfoliant had me basically after the first application but sold me the more I used it. This has a combination of fruit acids that help loosen and rid the intracellular bonds, while encouraging collagen production. Then once the fruit acids do their thing, jojoba esters and finely ground bamboo particles remove the dead skin. I used this in the morning first thing on damp skin. I rubbed in circular motions. Then brushed my teeth. Once I was done I rinsed it off. My skin felt so smooth and radiant! I used it twice a week. If you have sensitive skin I would do a patch test first and then see how your skin does. It smells amazing too! Like fresh lime juice and it’s this beautiful emerald green. 8. Ilia Chromatic Liquid Eyeshadows–
These are everything! My newest obsessions in natural makeup. They came out this fall and I haven’t been able to stop using them. They go on so smooth and stay put! Yes, they don’t budge. Which is unheard of in clean beauty for a cream or liquid eyeshadow. They’re great for acting as an eye primer before your powder eyeshadow too. This is a green beauty hall of fame product. It has a cult following and for good reason. It literally works for any skin type and delivers results! I remember it was the first natural beauty mask that left my skin glowing. It smells insanely good. A mixture of rose, orange, vanilla and other essential oils send the scent profile over the top. It helps to increase circulation, nourish the skin with superfood ingredients like raw hawaiian honey, chlorella and microalgae. Plus, it moisturizes the skin. 10. Beautycounter Countertime Line-
Beautycounter wanted to create something that not only proved to be effective but safe. This is where they created a plant-derived Retinatural Complex of Bakuchiol and alpine rose. This line delivers when it comes to clean beauty standouts. It’s made for sensitive skin and many of the products do not contain essential oils. It’s not often I find products that not only are clean, but also effective and budget friendly. People are constantly asking what options I would recommend that are less expensive and it can be hard. Sometimes you have to sacrifice performance, however, not with Live Botanical. I think that’s why I initially got so jazzed about it. I saw that not only was the line organic, non-GMO, ethically wild-harvested, local, sustainable and fair trade but budget friendly. She really goes the extra mile. This was one of the very first clean beauty lines that I discovered and literally made a huge difference in my skin. It’s packed full of antioxidants that really go in and change your skin- no joke. So many people have said how much True Botanical’s changed their skin after using. When I think of TB what sticks out to me is a luxe anti-aging line. Using the most potent ingredients, TB spares no expense when it comes to creating their products. They care about quality and seeing products that actually perform, while at the same time are safe. A truly unique company in the green beauty industry. The scents of their products are some of the best. Nothing is too strong but smells fresh and real. 13. OSEA Ocean Cleanser–
This cleanser is a definite fave! I love that it comes in a frosted glass bottle- so chic. It’s such an overall soothing cleanser, yet highly effective. It removes all my my makeup and grime from the day- yes even my stubborn eye makeup. I get my skin damp first and then apply several pumps to my hands. Then I rub in circular motions all over my face. After rinsing with water my skin feels so hydrated, and clean. Not stripped or dry. It does such a great job of imparting hydration to the skin, and nourishing it with vitamins and minerals. Did I mention it smells like candy?! The lime really stands out to me. 14. Aleavia Skincare-
They are a completely natural prebiotic skincare line, that specializes in putting the friendly bacteria back on your skin. Here is a quote from their website-
