I never knew I needed a glow stick until I met Skin Owl’s newest tool!

Skin Owl’s The Glow Stick-

Have you heard of Skin Owl?  This brand has been around since the very beginning of clean beauty.  I remember using their products and instantly being sold on their geranium beauty drops.  They helped to clear away some congestion on my skin and pesky acne.  Well, Annie the founder was so sweet to send me their newest skincare tool- The Glow Stick.  It is unlike anything I’ve used when it comes to a facial tool.  I couldn’t wait to start testing it out!  The wand itself is encrusted with 30 Geranium stones.  These stones are known for helping rebalance, as they omit negative ions that help to rebalance positive ions in the body.  They also help to eliminate free radicals and to increase collagen- can we all say a enthusiastic yes to this!!

If you’ve ever wanted anything to be lifted, smoothed, or contoured then you need The Glow Stick.  I watched their video on how to use it first, which was super helpful.  I found I did use it both at night and in the morning.  Just depending on my mood.  It really helped me to de-congest my skin at night and was a great way to unwind after a long day.  In the morning I loved using it to waken up my whole face and really get the blood flow going.  There’s really no wrong way to use it!  Whatever way you find yourself getting the most results from- go for it.  I like using the Geranium Beauty Drops form Skin Owl with it.  But you can use any oil you want.  You actually don’t even have to use an oil if you prefer not too.  You can even use it on that pesky cellulite!  You better believe I have. ūüôā  It may sound silly to say but I look forward to using this everyday!  You can even put it in the fridge to help de-puff and increase circulation even more.  Get The Glow Stick here!

natural beauty concealers

This new Kosas Revealer concealer takes the cake for brightening and great coverage.

Kosas Concealer-

I included this new concealer in my Best of Clean Beauty Concealer here.  But wanted to pay a little tribute to it here.  I have been loving the formula.  It’s a new release for them and really is unique compared to other brands I’ve used in the past.  It’s very brightening and really wakes up your whole complexion.  It also helps to hide dark circles, cover redness and hyperpigmentation.  Kosas calls it a lightbulb for your skin and I couldn’t agree more!  It instantly gives your skin a glow. I love that it has caffeine to help de-puff the under eye area and hyaluronic acid to add hydration.  This is even great as an all over spot foundation.  Just dab this in your t-zone and blend out.  It helps to offer the coverage you want, all while not looking like you’re wearing a mask.  The formula is so creamy too.  It provides medium to full coverage for a concealer.  If you’ve been looking for a new concealer, look no further!  Get it here!

These bronzers have been in heavy rotation in my natural beauty routine!

Kosas The Sun Show Bronzer-

This bronzer was just released by Kosas several weeks back and I’ve been wearing it nonstop since!  This bronzer is unique because it’s made with shea butter and it’s silicone free.  It hydrates your skin and not only gives you a bronzed look but an overall glow.  It feels so lightweight on the skin- such a weightless formula.  I love how easy it is to apply- you really can’t mess up when applying.  It comes in 3 shades, Light, Medium and Dark.  I wear the Light and Medium most but I’ve even tried the Dark and loved how the color looked on my skin.  It almost has this creamy texture to it because of the shea butter.  If you’ve been looking for a new bronzer- allow me to introduce you to The Sun Show Bronzer!  Get it here!

Loving how the color looks on my legs! This is the third coat of EcoTan Mousse.

Eco Tan Cacao Tanning Mousse-

The Choosy Chick sent me this tanning mousse and I was so excited to use it.  I have used other EcoTan products in the past and really loved them.  I was intrigued by this one because it’s a mousse- a formula I hadn’t used before and it activates in 1 hour.  I was especially excited about having a tan in an hour and not having to wait for 4 hours or overnight like many other formulas.  I applied it to one leg to see the change.  It got darker after one application but definitely wasn’t as dark as I wanted.  I did a second application and could tell a difference even more.  Then I added a third application and could really see a tangible difference after that.  For me the third application was prefect.  It wasn’t too dark but wasn’t too light.  You can see in the photos the difference.  I loved how this activated so quickly and the mousse consistency.  It didn’t feel greasy at all but quickly absorbed.  It lasted about 5 days on my legs.  I even used it on my face and loved the result too.  Check out my EcoTan review where I reviewed other products from them here.  Get the Cacao Tanning Mousse here!

It was love at first swipe when I tried the new Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara!

Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara-

This mascara has been in heavy rotation the last month.  If you’ve followed me for any length of time then you know I’m pretty obsessed with anything Ilia makes.  No surprise when I tried their mascara I was a fan.  It’s unique product all around.  The brush is actually patented.  One side of the brush is meant for curling lashes, while the other end is meant for lengthening.  I have never had a mascara actually curl my lashes until I used Ilia’s mascara wand!  It really works.  After I use the curl side I switch it over and use the lengthening side to really build up my lashes.  The formula doesn’t flake on me and looks as great at 9 at night as it did at 9 in the morning.  It doesn’t offer huge drama lashes.  It’s more separation, curl and length.  But I do get quite a bit of build out of the formula so if you’re wanting to make your lashes even bolder you totally can with this formula!  It’s also great for those with sensitive eyes.  Another home run for Ilia.  Get the mascara here!

This Alpyn Beauty Eye Balm had me at first swipe!

Alpyn Beauty PlantGenius Line-Filling Eye Balm-

Let’s just say the best of clean beauty April edition wouldn’t be complete without this product.  This eye balm is SO good.  The end.  Ok, I’ll share more.  I remember trying my first product from Alpyn Beauty and being impressed and now 3 products later I’m officially obsessed with the brand!  This product is so unique compared to other eye products I’ve used.  Typically an eye product is either a cream or a serum.  This product is a balm.  It does feel like a cream initially but way less oily and greasy feeling.  I love how it absorbs into the skin so effortlessly.  It just sinks right in.  It helps to brighten my under eye area, and fill in lines.  It has Bakuchiol- a plant derived retinol that helps to fight the signs of aging skin. I’ve been using it morning and night and can’t stop!  It really helps my concealer under my eye set so well too.  I also struggle with milia- tiny white hard bumps under the skin around my eye area.  I’ve noticed if I use anything too thick or heavy around my eyes I will get larger bumps.  This has been the perfect consistency.  I haven’t noticed any bumps!  Right now they are offering 20% off with code: SPRING20. I also love their Survival Serum and Melt Moisturizer.  Check out all their products here!

Solara not only offers a body sunscreen, but a facial sunscreen, lip sunscreen and even a sunscreen that gives you a glow!

Solara Clean Freak Sunscreen-

Beauty Heroes had sent me this natural sunscreen to try 6 weeks ago.  I had never used Solara and was excited to see what all the hype was about.  It’s made to really nourish the skin while it’s protecting it.  Often sunscreens block the sun but don’t add a lot of other actives in their formulas.  This is not the case with Solara.  Their products are filled with skin loving ingredients like Vitamins C, E and Omegas.  They use a non-nano zinc oxide to block the sun rays.  I love that the formula rubs in sheer as I’m not a fan of looking like a ghost!  It has an SPF of 30 and is water resistant for up to 40 minutes.  My skin didn’t feel greasy after using it which I loved.  It really rubbed in so well and I didn’t burn!  I also tried their Time Traveler Ageless Face Sunscreen and loved how it felt on my face.  It really acted as the perfect primer before applying my makeup.  If you’re looking for a new natural sunscreen that offers some good SPF but also is good for your skin, look no further!  Get it here!

Natural Self Tanning Routine

Natural Self Tanning Routine

In today’s video I’m sharing my natural self tanning routine.  This isn’t something I just use in the summer time but all year long.  I’m sharing how I prep my skin for the self tanner and also how I apply the self tanner.  Plus, I’m sharing all my favorite natural self tanner’s in clean beauty!  It’s so important to make sure you’re using a natural self tanner and not a conventional one.  A natural self tanner is free from harmful toxins.  If you think about your skin, it’s the largest organ in your body.  That’s a lot of product to be applying all over.  If it’s filled with toxins that’s even more chemicals that you are exposing to yourself on a daily basis.  Skip the conventional, toxic self tanner and grab one of my favorite natural self tanners instead!  You will thank yourself.

Also, learn the best tips on how to apply your self tanner and what products I prefer.  It’s so important to have a clean canvas so your self tanner looks as natural as possible.  Otherwise you could end up looking like an Oompa Loompa!  Don’t forget to subscribe on YouTube so you can be the first to get updates on new videos!

What’s your favorite natural self tanner?

Best Natural Self Tanner

Best Natural Self Tanner

I’m so excited to share with you the Best Natural Self Tanner! ¬†I’ve tried several since going green and I’m here to share my favorite.

This post is sponsored by The Choosy Chick– your one stop shop for your whole family when it comes to green and clean products. ¬†Margot the founder, personally tries the products and researches what she brings in to her online shop. ¬†So you know you’re only getting the best of the best!

Who is Eco Tan?

Ok, let’s talk about the best natural self tanner. ¬†I had been using a self tanner for a while but was looking for a new one. ¬†I had heard about Eco Tan years ago but never tried the product. ¬†Margot had contacted me from The Choosy Chick about trying out Eco Tan and I knew I had too hop on it! ¬†Eco Tan is made in Australia by a mom named Sonya who wanted a tan without the harmful UV rays. ¬†Her sister had been diagnosed with melanoma and had to get a growth cut off of her arm. ¬†They started to get spray tans but then were concerned about the ingredients. ¬†Sonya started to experiment with ingredients in their kitchen and not long after they became the first¬†tanning manufacturer to be certified organic by the Organic Food Chain under the Australian government- pretty cool!

Why Choose a Natural Self Tanner:

I really admire Eco Tan’s commitment to safe ingredients! ¬†I used to use a conventional self tanner back in the day that was anything but natural. ¬†I’m always shocked at the ingredients. ¬†When I’ve looked at today’s self tanners, things haven’t changed. ¬†Conventional self tanners contain an array of ingredients I wouldn’t want near my skin. ¬†Things like, phenoxyethanol, fragrance, PEG’s, propylene glycol and parabens just to name a few. ¬†As most of you know, skin is the largest organ and absorbs what we put on it.

According to studies, our skin absorbs 60% of what we put on.

Why I love Eco Tan?

After testing out Eco Tan there are so many reasons why I love it! ¬†Even compared to other natural self tanners I’ve used. ¬†For starters it doesn’t smell like self tanner. ¬†You know what I mean, the stinky smell that’s almost inevitable with self tanners. ¬†Well, not with Eco Tan! ¬†I tried two of their products, the Face Tan Water and their Invisible Tan. ¬†The Face Tan Water smells like citrus and the Invisible Tan smells like a mix of chamomile and geranium.

Face Tan Water- I love that this product isn’t a lotion or cream but just like a toner for the skin. ¬†Sometimes creams can be greasy and just too much for the face. ¬†The Face Tan water gives you no greasiness and feels so light on the skin. ¬†I applied this twice a week for an all over tan glow. ¬†I would make sure to cleanse and exfoliate my skin beforehand and then apply the self tanner to dry skin. ¬†I used my fingers and just made sure to rinse them well afterwards to ensure I didn’t have any leftover residue. ¬†I applied to my face and decolletage It also says on the directions you can use a cotton pad to apply if you want but I just used my hands. Get the Face Tan Water here!

Invisible Tan- This comes in a tube and is a cream/lotion. ¬†It can be used for face or body. ¬†I just used it for my body. ¬†I made sure to exfoliate before application. ¬†I really like Acure’s Brightening Exfoliator. ¬†I would apply to dry skin. ¬†I noticed it took about 6 hours or so for me to see a difference in color. ¬†The color looks so realistic and natural. ¬†Nothing fake looking. ¬†It really blends so well too. ¬†I noticed a difference after one application but after two I really looked like I had a good tan. Get the Invisible Tan here!

Before and After Photos-

I wanted to share with you some before and after photos so you could get a good idea of what the product looks like on the skin.  Plus, see the difference 1 application versus 2 can make.  Hope it helps!

*This picture is of me with nothing on and not wearing any Eco Tan.

*This is me after applying the Eco Tan Face Water and letting it sit for 8 hours. Only 1 application.

*This is a picture of my legs.  I have the Invisible Tan on the right leg and nothing on the left.

This is just one coat of the Invisible Tan.

*This is with two coats of the Invisible Tan on my legs.  Two coats on the right and none on the left.

New Fave Sunless Tanner

New Fave Sunless Tanner

I don’t know about you, but I just look better with a tan. ¬†Truthfully, I think everyone does. ¬†I used to love to “fake and bake”…I know, horrible- don’t judge! ¬†But no worries, I saw the light. ¬†Now I’m kind of OCD when it comes to exposing my face, and decolletage to the sun. ¬†I’m all about preserving my face from brown spots, and wrinkles, thank you. ¬†However, it doesn’t mean this girl doesn’t like a little tan. (more…)

Self Tanners

Ok, all you ladies out there love a little glow right? ¬†I mean who doesn’t look better with a little bit of sun? ¬†Now I’m not talking Oompa Loompa here but just a good sunkissed glow. ¬†Well, I certainly do! ¬†The great thing with self tanners is you can keep re-applying if you want more color, minus the skin damage. ¬†Nowadays, there’s a lot more to choose from in the organic self tanner department then in the past. ¬†I’m sure you’ve seen all the mainstream lines toting their self tanners but what they don’t tell you is all the chemicals added to them. ¬†No, I don’t want a side of parabens, dyes, synthetic fragrance and many other unmentionables in my self tanner. ¬†Let’s keep it pure people!

Well, thankfully there is a healthy alternative and it actually works too. ¬†I am a devotee of Lavera’s self tanner. ¬†It’s been one of my natural staples since going green. ¬†Not only does it give you a glow but an amazing color to boot. ¬†I don’t know how many times people have said you’re glowing and as much as I would love to take the credit, it’s really Lavera. ¬†(But let’s let them think what they want.) I was out for a while and I felt naked without it. ¬†It makes everything look better, from foundation, to concealer…in fact I feel I don’t even have to wear foundation when I’m wearing it because it makes all my splotchies (wait is that a word?) on my face disappear. ¬†Anyways, I’ve tried many others and I must say nothing is quite like Lavera in terms of performance and ingredients. ¬†What I love is that they don’t use soy in their products, unlike many natural self tanners I’ve found. ¬†I get it, soy is cheap but usually it’s genetically modified if it’s not organic and if it is who wants to be rubbing soy on their skin all the time? ¬†Soy basically can produce more estrogen in the body because it has phytoestrogens (Isoflavone) in it that imitate the hormone. ¬†And with all the breast cancer and cancer in general I just stay clear of any additional estrogen producers.

One last thing. ¬†I always recommend exfoliating before putting on any self tanner. ¬†I use a mixture of brown sugar and water. ¬†Just take it in the shower and scrub away. ¬†I use that mostly for my body and then for my face I’ll use a facial exfoliant, but I’ve used my brown sugar mixture before and it works like a charm. ¬†Just be sure to not go to town on your face…you don’t want to irritate it. ¬†Also, be sure to not put any oil or lotion on before you put on the self tanner. ¬†You want ¬†a freshly scrubbed clean slate. ¬†I usually apply mine in the morning and it takes about 3-4 hours for the color to kick in. ¬†I’ve also applied it an hour or so before bed and wake up looking like I was dreaming in Hawaii. ¬†Ok, enough of my rant, if you want to try Lavera out you can find it at:

Lavera  (your first order you get 20%off).
