Why I Decided To Join Beautycounter

Why I Decided To Join Beautycounter

I’m so excited to share why I decided to join Beautycounter!  This post has been a long time coming.  If you would have told me 6 months ago that I was going to be joining Beautycounter I would have laughed.  For those of you who have followed me for a long time this may come as a big surprise to you.  That’s one of the reasons why I wanted to share why I decided to join Beautycounter.  To not only share why I changed my mind but also share more about Beautycounter and their mission- because they mission is great and something I had no idea about.  I didn’t care to listen, read, or watch. If you don’t care about reading about why I joined and just want me to share my experience with the product- then scroll to the end! ūüôā I’ve got pics of me wearing the products!  And my thoughts.  Plus, don’t forget to shop right now!  Beautycounter’s Black Friday Sale started today!  They rarely have sales- like hardly ever, so this is pretty big.  Shop 15% off sitewide plus, free shipping on orders of $50 or more!  Shop here!

I want to share first why I used to be against Beautycounter:

  • I didn’t like the MLM or direct sales model- whatever you want to call it.  I’ve been pitched to about Beautycounter more than I can count.  Some have been nice and thought out but others to be honest seemed really salsey and impersonal.  It turned me off.
  • They had ingredients in their products that I thought were bad.  Specifically talc and phenoxyethanol.  I’ve since done a deep dive into both and I’m no longer fearful of either.  I’ll share more about it this below.
  • All other green beauty bloggers around me were against it and so of course so was I.  I guess you could say I followed the pack!  Everyone has their standards and I can only make this decision for myself.  It just feels good to make MY own educated decision though and have researched it. I think it’s easy to get swept up in things, and listen to what bloggers say as Bible.  People think what I say is absolute all the time.  I constantly want to encourage others to do their own research- us bloggers don’t know everything- far from it.  We are all on a journey!

Overall, I didn’t give Beautycounter a chance.  I didn’t read up on them, or even entertain conversations about them.  I simply looked at some of their products on their site and that was it.

Ingredient Deep Dive- Phenoxyethanol and Talc

Phenoxyethanol- This is used as a preservative in products.  If a product contains water or aloe, it needs a preservative otherwise mold, yeast and bacteria can grow.  There is a lot of false statements about phenoxyethanol out there on the internet.  Trust me- I’ve read them!  Beautycounter uses a pure form of phenoxyethanol, which has been tested twice by Tufts University.  They have also had 1,4 dioxane and ethylene oxide tested on their raw form and it came back negative.  Phenoxyethanol is not bioaccumulative so it’s not something that builds up in your body like many chemicals can. Beautycounter only allows products to contain less than 1% of phenoxyethanol in all their products.  They work with formulators to only use what’s absolutely necessary.  I don’t know about you but I’ve had multiple green beauty products have mold in them!  Preservatives have been made to be the villain.  We need them in formulations.  Obviously, there are good ones and bad.  Would I recommend you use any brand that has a product that contains phenoxyethanol-no.  It’s important to know the sourcing.  I trust Beautycounter’s work and efforts to make sure they have a clean source and our third party testing to ensure it stays clean.

It’s also important to understand the studies done and the percentages used.  Many people are citing studies that have used 100% phenoxyethanol!  I don’t care what chemical you use, you’re going to have some negative impacts when used at that high of a dosage.  Some reports also state irritation when using phenoxyethanol.  I would say to check if the source is clean but to also see how much they’re using in a product.

Made Safe and EWG the two most credible third party non-toxic certifications enable phenoxyethanol to be used at less than 1%.

The thing I love and respect about Beautycounter is that they are constantly wanting to improve and find better solutions.  They don’t claim to know it all!  They are working with industry leaders to always find a newer list of preservatives to use.  They have worked to create a Safer Preservative Challenge and Sustainable Chemistry Alliance.  I would also be cautious of new preservatives that have come out on the market that claim to be clean when no research has been done on them.  Let’s always keep asking questions!

Talc- I had thought talc was a big no, no since I went green 8 years ago.  But I’ve quickly learned I was wrong.  Talc isn’t bad, it’s the by product of talc- asbestos and other heavy metals that can be the problem.  Beautycounter works only with a certified company that is asbestos free and they don’t stop there, they then third party test all their talc to ensure there’s no contamination. Once again, Beautycounter always takes their efforts to the next level!

My biggest piece of advice as I preach all the time as a green blogger is to do your own research and be your own advocate!  Don’t just believe everything you read, hear or see.

Fast Forward several months and now I want to share why I decided to join Beautycounter and why I changed my mind.  I thought about this and it really boiled down to 5 main things.

Third Party Testing-

For those who might not be aware of what third party testing is, let me explain. Third party testing is an independent organization that tests the product to ensure it is what it’s supposed to be.  They make sure it’s safe and has the ingredients it’s supposed to have in it.  For ex. Beautycounter had to recall some of their face cream back in 2017 because of a failed preservative and microbial growth.  I don’t know any green/natural beauty brands that are third party testing their products!  The FDA is so loose on regulations for beauty products.  A company could manufacture a product and list the ingredients on the label but the ingredients could be different then what’s actually in the label- and no one would know.

Beautycounter’s mission is to create laws that would force companies to be accountable. To be honest, I really didn’t fully understand this or think it was a big deal when it came to beauty until my own health journey with hashimotos.  I learned that heavy metals could be a trigger for my thyroid condition!  I also had a doctor share her own journey with heavy metal toxicity and an autoimmune condition.  I’m not sharing this to bring fear but to be aware.  I’ve been in this space for a long time and I wouldn’t have thought about heavy metals in products before.  Beautycounter tests their makeup line three times for 10 heavy metals before they put it out for the consumer.  Since natural makeup contains many minerals from the earth, even though they’re natural, they still can carry a load of heavy metals.  If you’re using these consistently that can produce a heavy metal load.  The fact that Beautycounter third party tests all their products is huge.  I literally know what’s in each product!

They aren’t just third party testing for heavy metals but for common toxic ingredients like phthalates, formaldehyde, 1,4 dioxane, etc.

Counteract Coalition-

This coalition is pretty amazing!  Beautycounter created this alliance of companies that supports the Personal Care Products Safety Act.  If you’re not familiar with the bill it would require manufacturers to post complete label information about products online and force beauty companies to provide the Food and Drug Administration with information about the ingredients used in their products. The last time a bill was passed to regulate personal care products it was 1938!  I think it’s time to start linking arms and make our voices heard.

Companies in the coalition are well known green beauty brands.

  • Vapour Organics, Annamarie Skincare, Follain, OSEA, Rahua, Silk Therapeutics, S.W. Basics, Vinter’s Daughter, and TenOverTen to name a few.  Beauty Counter unified everyone and created something so much more impactful than if everyone was on their own. There are power in numbers!  I love that Beauty Counter isn’t trying to bring other companies down but create positive change together. I love the quote from founder Gregg Refrew-

I set out to get safer products in the hands of everyone, not to get Beautycounter products into the hands on everyone.

Beautycounter is creating change and that’s something I want to be a part of!

Beautycounter Spreads The Clean Beauty Message-

Isn’t that what it’s all about?  Getting the clean beauty message out!  Beautycounter is pioneering this.  For so long I was against one of the companies making the biggest impacts in the natural beauty industry.  Instead of linking arms to join in the support to raise awareness I was fighting it.  They have the resources and have set it up where people are getting educated and empowered to make better choices for themselves and their families.  I want to be part of a movement that is supporting the clean beauty movement and women in business.

The amount of work they are doing to clean up the industry is amazing.  You can literally get email updates on their advocacy work by signing up here!

We can do more TOGETHER!

Builds Community-

This is one of my favorite aspects of Beautycounter.  The people you meet.  Women seriously passionate about making a difference and sharing it with their friends and family.  Beautycounter first and foremost wants to educate the consumer and the amount of materials and resources they share is amazing!

Learning from one another- that’s what it’s all about.  Not, I know more than you, here’s what to think, but an open dialogue where we are always growing.  People aren’t just detoxing their beauty but their lives.  It opens up the conversation. When you have a community of women who are sharing together- good things happen.  You can lean on one another.

Beautycounter Supports Women Building Businesses-

Ok, this point is one that I strongly believe in and I’m so passionate about.  I love that women can create a business that fits their lifestyle.  A business that can support their family.  If you would have told me I would be in direct sales 6 months ago, I would have thought you were joking.  But now I get it.  When your passion lines up with it, it’s impossible to say no.

Gregg, the founder, set it up as direct sales because she wanted it to be personal and relational.  She wanted to educate the consumer.  She could have set it up to be a retail but she didn’t.  She wanted consumers to know ingredients and to ask questions.  That’s why she chose direct sales.  The stories I’ve heard from women being able to support their families are definitely moving to say the least.

From being able to buy healthier food now for their family because of earning extra income through Beautycounter.  To being able to take their family on a vacation or affording a mom to stay at home with her kids.  Beautycounter has literally changed these women’s lives.

I recently watched a video where Gregg the founder shared why women need stop apologizing for being in direct sales.  Why are we apologizing?  Because we now can afford to live the lifestyle we want?  To pay for those ballet lessons for our child or educate others about nontoxic products?  It’s silly!  We need to own it and realize the change we’re making!

Those are my 5 reasons why I joined Beautycounter.  These are my why’s.

Beautycounter Review

Beautycounter’s Classic Eyeshadow Palette, Guava Satin Powder Blush and Color Intense Lipstick in BC Red.

I also wanted to share with you some of the product I’ve tried and their bestsellers-

As I mentioned above, don’t forget to grab some product now!  Beautycounter rarely has sales of any kind and their Black Friday sale starts today 12/20!  It’s 15% off sitewide and free shipping over $50!

The products I’ve tried are their Classic Eyeshadow Palette, Satin Powder Blush in Guava and their Color Intense Lipstick in BC Red(this was a limited edition, but they have one super close to the color called Girl’s Night, it’s your classic red).  I’ve been super impressed with the products!  The performance is amazing.  The eyeshadows are the best I’ve used in green beauty.  They’re highly pigmented, and stay on the whole day!  The blush is also highly pigmented and long lasting.  Guava is the perfect pop of pink to warm up the cheeks.  The lipstick color is 100!  Literally, if you’ve followed me for a while you know I love me a good red lipstick and the BC red does not disappoint.  It also lasts crazy long.  It has a rich feel to it.

I’m going to be sharing my experience with other products too- follow me on Instagram to get the most up to date looks!  Also, don’t forget to shop the Holiday Collection!  From what I’ve been told, it’s a limited edition, and they only bring back a few select items. Shop Holiday here!

Here are some Best Sellers from Beautycounter:

Ok, that’s all my thoughts on why I joined Beautycounter for now!  Thanks for reading.  Don’t forget to head to Beautycounter’s website to shop some product and stock up for the holidays!  I hope you feel informed, and educated.  If you have any questions or want to become a consultant, feel free to email me at suzi@gurlgonegreen.com.  I would love to have you on my team!

This month we are seeing Inlight in the box. ¬†This is a luxe brand made in the UK. ¬†The mastermind behind this skincare line is¬†Dr. Mariano Spiezia. ¬†His creations come to life through plant alchemy. ¬†He uses the brilliance of plants to create skincare products that perform. ¬†He has one formula that he’s particularly known for and it’s infused in all of his formulas. This formula is called the Bio-lipophilic Matrix¬ģ. ¬†This blend of beneficial¬†plant-based phytonutrient oils imitate the sebum‚Äôs texture while guarding and restoring the skin. ¬†Sounds like something I want in my skincare products!

The heroic product for the month is the Line Softener Intensive. The name just as it suggests helps to soften lines and bring a youthfulness to the skin. It’s filled with so many plant oils, and smells divine! ¬†Oils such as macademia, argan, jojoba and many more. Your skin literally is getting nourished with the plants and yet you’re not left with a greasy feel. ¬†It comes in a dark glass jar and the cutest wooden spoon to scoop the product out with. ¬†I apply it at night and wake up to refreshed skin!

The sidekick is the Super Food Mask. Another noteworthy product from Inlight. ¬†It’s filled with antioxidants that help promote cell turnover and collagen production. ¬†It also replenishes the skin’s moisture balance and protects the skin from environmental factors through spirulina, chlorophyll, barley leaf and rose hip seed oil. ¬†It’s a winning combination! ¬†Leave it on for 10 minutes and watch your skin transform!

Art of Organics-

Art Of Organics Natural Beauty

The Art of Organics Natural Beauty November Beauty Box is here! Featuring AMLY Botanicals! (Photo Cred. Art Of Organics)

This month we are seeing two products from the British line AMLY Botanicals.  This brand is also based out of the UK and is a new one to me!  Their products represent a blending of old and new.  They use many old traditional ways in their formulas but also love to implement new methods using bio-actives.  Basically you end up with a skincare line that is positively active and alive!

The first product is their City Screen Protective Face Serum. ¬†This isn’t like any other face cream you’ve used- trust me. ¬†It’s full of active ingredients that literally change your skin and improve the overall protection of the skin. ¬†It fills positively lovely on the skin. ¬†My skin feels soft, supple and protected- which makes sense. ¬†The ingredients creating this protection on the skin are echinacea, marine algae, gotu kola, nettle, green tea and marine samphire. ¬†This serum is perfect for those who want to help give their skin an extra layer of protection whether you’re in the city or in the country. ¬†Love applying this before my makeup!

The second product is Digital Detox. ¬†This is their silver rich face mist. ¬†I didn’t think much of this mist when I saw it but once I read up on it and used it, I must say I’ve become quite hooked! ¬†It’s meant to not only help you remove toxins from your skin but also invigorate you and your immediate dwelling. It’s meant to help get rid of the negative effects of the digital exposure we constantly are under. ¬†From your office, or work space to your home- this mist does some serious detoxing! ¬†I already have big plans to take it with me on my travels in a few weeks. ¬†The ingredients are meant to help detoxify the air from himalyan pink sea salt, and magnesium sulfate. ¬†Plus, juniper fruit oil and ylang ylang help ease mental fog. ¬†If you see me, I’m probably carrying this with me!

The Detox Box-

The-Detox-Box-Natural-Beauty

The Detox Box November Natural Beauty Box featuring: Odacite.

Odacite is taking center stage this month in The Detox Box! ¬†I have had the pleasure of trying many Odacite products and I have to say they don’t disappoint. ¬†The Maker of Odacite is Valerie Grandury. ¬†A breast cancer survivor, who was on the search for natural skincare products. ¬†However, she didn’t find them. ¬†As a result she created Odacite! ¬†It’s a mix of luxe French skincare with laid back vibes of California living. ¬†A perfect marriage if you ask me!

This month we are seeing the All-Embracing Serum. ¬†This isn’t just for your face but for your whole body! ¬†An oil that does it all- yep you heard me right. ¬†Hydrating watermelon seed oil, calming and soothing oatmeal are just two of the power ingredients in this decadent oil. ¬†I massage it on my skin right after showering while my skin is slightly damp and it soaks in so nicely. ¬†I also love using it on my face too. ¬†I apply after my hydrosol and my skin just soaks it all up. ¬†It’s such a multi-tasker! Plus, you can’t go wrong with a dark glass bottle- swoon!

I was also delighted to see the Black Mint Cleanser in the box- a fave! ¬†I was excited to see it come in a travel size tube. ¬†I have the large glass bottle- not so friendly for traveling. ¬†This cleanser feels cooling on the skin, gets rid of all dirt and makeup and leaves your skin feeling squeaky clean. ¬†Wait, there’s more in this month’s box! ¬†You also receive a crystal contour GUA SHA. ¬†This rose quartz gua sha tool is perfect for performing facial massage. ¬†Facial massage is such an amazing way to increase circulation, drain lymphatic system, and reduce puffiness. ¬†I apply a little of the All-Embracing Serum first then I use the gua sha. ¬†Trust me, once you incorporate gua sha into your life you’ll never go back!

Inika Organic Baked Mineral Bronzer in Sunkissed-

This bronzer is everything! ¬†But really. ¬†I love how easy it is to use. ¬†You don’t have to worry about being heavy handed with it. ¬†It feels so light on the skin. ¬†Plus, the color pay off is amazing! ¬†A pretty sunkissed hue, no orange face with it. ¬†Funny that I say sunkissed because that is the name of the bronzer. ¬†I apply this where the sun hits my skin. ¬†Right below my hairline on my forehead, right below my cheek bone, sides of nose and I always blend my neck too and add some brush strokes of it there. ¬†Creates a seamless finish!

Wearing the Inika Organic eyeliner on top and bottom in coco. Also, Inika Organic Sunkissed Bronzer and Mineral Foundation Powder in Patience.

Inika Organic Eyeliner in Coco-

This eyeliner is such a pretty brown color. ¬†I love it for everyday wear. ¬†It looks put together but a little more ¬†understated then say a black liner. ¬†I apply this on my upper lash line and my lower lash line. Sometimes just my upper. If I don’t prep my lid, the liner doesn’t last as long. ¬†But if I prep my lid with the Inika Organic Baked Mineral Foundation then it really lasts so much longer. I love how smudge able it is. ¬†It looks good even when it’s worn in a bit later in the day.

Shop the eyeliner here!

Inika Organic Baked Mineral Foundation in Patience-

This fountain powder is so nice. ¬†I love how light it feels on the skin. ¬†It isn’t a heavy powder foundation. ¬†I like applying it by itself after priming with a primer. ¬†It doesn’t look cakey at all but really subdued. ¬†It’s also really great for applying over liquid foundations since it is such a lightweight powder. ¬†I also love that it’s a pressed powder versus a loose- so much less mess. I can’t recommend it enough if you love a pressed powder foundation!

E3Live Tamera E3 Light Creme-

Best Organic and Natural Skin Cream for sensitive and dry skin

Best Organic and Natural Eczema/Irritated Cream For Angry Skin

This cream saved my neck a couple weeks ago- no joke! ¬†So my neck had been feeling irritated for a while- almost sensitive. ¬†Anyways, I applied a mask and my neck literally broke out into the biggest rash. ¬†It covered my neck and looked like eczema almost. ¬†It was dry, and patchy. ¬†So I used the E3Live cream on my neck and it literally changed my skin! ¬†I put it on at night and the next day my neck was actually healing and not irritated. ¬†It continued healing each day and now is gone. ¬†I had tried several different oils and creams and everything made it worst. ¬†But the E3Live actually felt soothing and healing! ¬†The ingredients are great. ¬†I think the ingredient that did the trick was the algae extract. ¬†My naturopath had actually told me about the cream originally. ¬†He said it is one product he has seen help his clients more than anything when it comes to skin conditions- especially eczema. I’m a believer!

Leahlani Aloha Ambrosia-

I love this Morning Moisture Elixir!  It leaves my skin feeling so dewy and hydrated.  I put it on in the morning before my makeup.  It helps to fill in all the cracks and smooth out my whole complexion.  I find it has been perfect for the transition to cooler temps.  Plus it smells amazing!

Natural organic mask and facial serum beauty review

Best Natural and Organic Facial Serum and Brightening Mask

Laurel Sun Damaged Repair Serum-

You know a serum is good when your blogger bestie Lisa from This Organic Girl shows up with the same Face Serum! ¬†We both attended Natural Expo East last week and we both brought Laurel’s Sun Damaged Repair Serum. ¬†When two green beauty bloggers show up with the same serum- there’s something special about it. ¬†This serum is perfect all year round but I especially love it after the summer months. ¬†It helps to repair and rejuvenate the skin after sun exposure. ¬†Minimizing dark spots and brightening skin. ¬†I seriously can’t recommend it enough! It smells divine, is the cleanest of the clean when it comes to sourcing and really works- what more could you want? ¬†You can thank me later!

Get Laurel’s Sun Damaged Repair Serum here!

Laurel’s Brighten Mask-

Yes, another Laurel product because I can’t keep quiet about this brand. ¬†The brighten mask is another fave that I’ve been having on rotation for the last several weeks. ¬†It’s also perfect post summer months. ¬†It’s full of vitamin c and raw fruit acids that help to brighten discoloration. ¬†It has 12 plant active ingredients! ¬†I’m not joking when I say you will see a difference after one use- trust me! ¬† It’s just one powerful mask. ¬†I love that the mask comes in a powder form too, so it’s not activated until you add water. ¬†You’re getting the most potent mask the minute you use it!

Get Laurel’s Brighten Mask here!

Aillea + Organic Bath Co. Organic Citrus Lemongrass-

This is a new find for me and I can’t get enough! ¬†This fabulous collaboration is between Organic Bath Co. and Aillea- sounds like a match made in green beauty heaven. The scent of citrus and lemongrass literally wakes me up and feels so refreshing. ¬†I apply it after I shower and my skin feels so hydrated. ¬†It is a whipped body butter and turns into a nice oil when applied to the skin. ¬†I love that it comes in a glass jar. ¬†Plus, there are only 5 ingredients and they’re all organic!

Get the Body Butter here!

Maya Chia Optimist-

This toner is my absolute favorite! ¬†There have been many hydrating mists that I’ve tried in my years as a beauty blogger but this one takes the cake. ¬†Why? ¬†Well, for starters the formula is divine. ¬†It completely hydrates the skin and feels so refreshing with antioxidants and amino acids. ¬†Your skin will feel plump and perfectly hydrated. ¬†But the kicker of the whole experience? ¬†The actual bottle and pump applicator- it’s amazing! ¬†I know sounds funny to even say but after having so many bad experiences with mists I know a great one when I use it. ¬†The Optimist is just that- GREAT! ¬†It doesn’t squirt out unevenly or in a harsh stream but a nice even mist that seriously feels so good. ¬†It’s stolen my heart!

Kosas Lipstick-

I mean does Kosas lipstick even need an introduction? ¬†I talk about them all the time and I can’t stop! ¬†The formula and colors are just divine. ¬†I keep trying new colors and I have yet to find one I don’t like. ¬†Is that even possible? ¬†I just can’t get enough. ¬†I’ve tried 3 new colors recently- Fringe, a nice brick red for fall, Electra, your classic candy apple red and Violet Fury, a limited edition magenta that looks good on both warm and cool tones. Trust me, you’ll love them!

Aila Natural Nail Polish in Room 212

Aila Nail Polish- Room 212

Aila nail polish isn’t new to me, but one I can’t get enough of. ¬†Once the weather starts to turn cooler I love grabbing the color Room 212. ¬†A rich plum color that reminds me of warm drinks, the changing colors of leaves and chunky sweaters. ¬†Any of their colors are great though! ¬†Just love their formula in general. ¬†Don’t forget their Better than Gel topcoat– seriously the best topcoat in green beauty!

Kosas Tinted Face Oil

I have been using the new Kosas Tinted ¬†Face Oil for a month now and I can’t stop! ¬†I thought I wouldn’t like it originally but after using it I realized how wrong I was. ¬†The formula is a lot thinner than I expected. ¬†It reminds me of Gressa’s foundation consistency. ¬†I always say Gressa’s foundation reminds me of paint thinner. ¬†Haha, I know a crazy example. ¬†The Kosas Tinted Face Oil offers such good coverage, a lot better than I thought. ¬†It gives my face an overall polished and pulled together look. ¬†Plus, it looks so dewy and fresh. ¬†My skin literally looks like it’s glowing!

Best Green Beauty Cleansers

Best Green Beauty Cleansers

I’ve rounded out the Best Green Beauty Cleansers for you! ¬†I get so many questions on what cleansers I love and would recommend- well here they are. ¬†There is something for everyone and every budget. Every skin type has specific needs and goals. ¬†Gone are the days of blasting your face with harsh cleansers! ¬†All of these cleansers keep your ph in check, so you’re not left with skin that is crying out for hydration. ¬†If anything they help put moisture back in your skin.

Also, on another note something I’ve noticed people don’t often do is cleanse their skin properly. ¬†I know sounds weird even typing it but it’t true! ¬†If you don’t properly cleanse your skin, none of your other products can be as effective. ¬†You want to make sure you get all your makeup off from the day and grime. ¬†Otherwise you are caking products on top of dirty skin and causing possible blemishes because of dirt buildup. ¬†Even if you don’t wear makeup you need to wash your face! ¬†Yes, it get’s dirty even without makeup.

How to choose the right cleanser?

Think about what your skin type is and what you need. ¬†Is your skin dry, is it oily, sensitive, acne prone? ¬†Once you’ve established your skin type then you can decide on what type of formula you like working with.

  • Oil Cleanser
  • Balm Cleanser
  • Cream Cleanser
  • Bar Soap

*I’ve highlighted my favorite picks for each skin type below.

Marie Veronique Replenishing Oil-

*(All Skin Types) I have to start the review with their cleanser…because it’s my favorite!!  As in my favorite cleanser ever?  Quite possibly.  You all know I’m crazy for oil cleansers.  This one is in a league of it’s own.  It is an oil but more of a creamy oil.  It comes in a glass pump bottle which makes me love it even more.  I always shake it up before I use it to make sure the product is evenly distributed.  I get my skin slightly damp and then squeeze out a small amount and massage into my skin.  The best part?  It removes not only my face makeup but also my eye makeup-with no stinging!  Yes, a miracle cleanser is what I call it.  After I massage it all in, I then take a warm wash cloth and wipe off.  My skin has never been better…seriously!  It doesn’t dry out my skin at all but helps keep it so balanced.  I’m obsessed with this cleanser and I want everyone to know!  It’s rare as a green beauty blogger that I actually finish a product, but this one…it’s almost gone.  I’m scraping what I can to get it all out.  You all need this…end of story.  Grab the Marie Veronique Cleanser here!

Linne Botanicals Purify Face Wash-

*(Normal/Combination/Oily Skin) I actually had the pleasure of sampling this face wash about 6 months ago.  The product instantly captured my senses!  It’s unlike any face wash I’ve used.  First the smell is amazing!  It has notes of fresh lime and tea tree that awaken your senses instantly.  It foames up a little, but not overly.  My skin feels so clean and balanced after using.  It removed all my makeup effortlessly too.  My skin feels brighter and awake after using.  The product has french green clay and bentonite clay that not only help detoxify the skin but also deposit important minerals in it.  It is such a different cleanser compared to others I’ve used, because while it is detoxifying, the texture feels similar to a cream cleanser.  It’s really the best of both worlds.  You get the benefits of a detoxifying cleanser, but the end result doesn’t feel like your skin has been stripped because of the creamy texture.  Your skin feels clean, rid of makeup and restored.  This really is a heroic product in my opinion and one I keep reaching for on the daily.  Get your Linne Purify Face Wash here!

Osmia Black Clay Facial Soap-

*(Normal/Problem/Combination Skin) This soap is their best selling soap and for good reason-it’s luxurious to it’s core.  Made of Black Australian Clay and Dead Sea Mud, this facial soap doesn’t mess around.  Plus, coconut milk, organic almond, avocado, and castor bean oils round out this beauty.  It is recommended for normal, problem and combination skin.  I have drier skin however and it worked amazing on me.  It didn’t feel drying at all. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, and clean but not tight and dry like a lot of bar soaps.  It also gets rid of all my makeup too.  Osmia recommends it for perioral dermatitis too.  (Check out my full review of my experience with perioral dermatitis here).  I have a soap saver from Osmia that I use with this soap as well and love.  If you’ve been searching for a cleanser that gets the job done and gives your skin the clean feeling you crave-this is it.  Get your Osmia Black Clay Bar Soap here!

Hydrating Cleanser-

*(All Skin Types)¬†I love the simplicity of this cleanser. ¬†True Botanical’s has several different lines within their whole skincare line. ¬†This is the Basic’s line. ¬†It’s just like the name suggests. ¬†Very basic and simple. ¬†It’s not heavily scented, ingredients are minimal. ¬†Just a good all around cleanser. I had some other cleansers I needed to review but I kept wanting to use this one because it was so good. ¬†It is a milky consistency and smells so light. ¬†I get my face damp and then add the cleanser to my face in circular motions. ¬†It not only gets all my makeup off-yes mascara included but leaves my skin feeling hydrated and not stripped. ¬†Bonus: it’s completely safe for pregnancy. ¬†I wish I could let you all sample some to see how great it makes your skin feel! ¬†I‚Äôm addicted to it! ¬†And the price‚Ķcrazy good! ¬†$32!! ¬†I mean you can‚Äôt beat that price. ¬†Snag your Hydrating Cleanser here!

OSEA Ocean Cleanser-

*(Normal/Combination)¬†This cleanser is milky smooth to the core! ¬†I love how it gets rid of all my makeup and grime but doesn’t strip my skin. ¬†It feels so silky on the skin. ¬†The scent is so pleasant too- I get hints of jasmine. ¬†It has lactic acid in it that helps to slough off the dead skin and reveal a bright glowing complexion. ¬†I love how it even removes my eye makeup effortlessly. ¬†I just rub it all over my eye area and it quickly picks up all the dirt and grime. ¬†Then I rinse off with water and then wipe clean with a warm washcloth. ¬†I also get my face a little damp before I apply the cleanser- helps to give it a little slip. ¬†My skin feels so clean but balanced and not too dry. ¬†Plus, I love that it comes in a pretty glass frosted bottle- swoon! ¬†Get your OSEA cleanser here!

Leahlani Pamplemousse Tropical Enzyme Cleansing Oil-

*(All Skin Types) The newest cleanser in my green beauty arsenal is the Pamplemousse Cleanser from Leahlani! ¬†This cleanser launched just this last month and it’s one to take note of. ¬†If you’ve been around green beauty long enough then you know anything Leahlani makes is extra special. ¬†This cleanser is no exception. ¬†The first thing that takes you away is the scent. ¬†Not just any scent… it takes you away to a tropical island filled with most luscious fruits! ¬†It smells divine. ¬†And of course the scent is completely natural. ¬†It’s an oil cleanser but if you add just a touch of water it suds up ever so slightly creating the perfect slip- so good. ¬†I look forward to cleansing my skin every night…literally it’s like a skin treat! ¬†It gets rid of all my makeup effortlessly and leaves my skin feeling supple and hydrated. ¬†If you haven’t snagged one of these yet, get on it- you will love it! Grab your Pamplemousse here! ¬†

LiL Fox Amazon After Dark Melty Jungle Cleansing Balm-

*(All Skin Types)¬†This cleansing balm is SO good. ¬†I can’t stop using it. I never knew I had a thing for cleansing balms but apparently I love them! ¬†I just put a small dime size amount in my hand and then rub into my face. ¬†Towards the end I apply a little water to help turn it in a milky cleanser and to get all my eye makeup off. ¬†I add a little water towards the end to help remove all my eye makeup. ¬†It gets it all off and then some. ¬†The smell of rose envelops you in a sea of rose gardens- love the smell. ¬†After using it, my skin feels completely clean but still nourished and hydrated. ¬†Sometimes I’ll apply and rub in circular motions then I put a warm washcloth on top of my face and just let it sit there for a second- feels SO good! ¬†Not only does it melt everything away but also the stress of the day. ¬†Get your Lil Fox Cleanser here!

Mahalo Unveil Cleansing Balm-

*(All Skin Types)¬†The Unveil Cleanser is a definite fave-it’s so good!! I can’t get enough. ¬†First the scent is tantalizing. With notes of lemon, fragonia, ginger, pink peppercorn and cardamom. It smells like a burst of lemony bright goodness! It comes in a round wooden jar- Mahalo’s signature look. It’s so unique compared to any cleanser I’ve used-in a league of it’s own. Upon contact with your skin and a little water it melts and turns into this amazing lather. It removes all my makeup effortlessly and with no stinging around the eye area. Don’t get me started on all the ingredients-swoon worthy! ¬†I’m quite taken with all of it and can’t get enough! Trust me when I say you all will love this. My skin feels so balanced and nourished after. Get your Unveil Cleanser here!

Maya Chia The Great Cleanse-⠀⠀

*(All Skin Types) This cleanser is so good.  First of all the packaging-on point.  Dark glass pump bottle, preserves every last drop.  It’s an oil cleanser.  So you apply it on dry skin and rub in circular motions all over.  It removes all my makeup effortlessly-yes even the stubborn eye makeup.  When I’m ready to rinse it off I apply the slightest amount of water and rub it over my face.  It really helps to break up anything lingering.  It has the slightest emulsification when adding the water-which I love!  Then I rinse with warm water and it comes off easily.  A lot of oil cleansers you have to really rub off with a washcloth to get the product off but not with this cleanser.  It’s so nice to have it come off so easy.  My skin feels perfectly balanced after cleansing-not too dry or oily.  I’m obsessed with this cleanser!  Did I mention it smells amazing?  Hints of lavender and chamomile pair together beautifully.  And yes, the supercritical chia oil is the first ingredient!  Plus, this cleanser is only $38-a serious steal for luxe skincare.  If you’ve been searching for the IT cleanser-then you just found it. Get it here and thank me later!

Acure Seriously Soothing Cleansing Cream-

*(Dry/Sensitive Skin) This has been a tried and true cleanser for me, whether it’s winter or summer.  It really changes with the seasons quite well.  First of all, I love the price.  It’s $9.99 for a good sized tube, and usually you can find it on sale for 20% off.  Not to mention, you can find it almost anywhere.  A lot of natural cleansers don’t foam, and many people who switch over from main stream products, have a hard time with this.  They’re used to the ultra foaming cleansers that strip your face…ring a bell?  It offers a bit of foam, yet still creamy in texture, without stripping your skin.  Have I mentioned the smell?  Refreshing and clean.  Removes all makeup, and leaves skin feeling clean but not tight. Get your Cleansing Cream here!
