What I buy on Amazon

What I buy on Amazon

I’m sharing today What I buy on Amazon.  Honestly, it’s one of my favorite things to view on people’s blogs!  Call me noisy but I love seeing what other people are buying up.  My wallet doesn’t thank me but it sure is fun!

Suzi(Gurl Gone Green) is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to amazon.com.

So I thought I would show you what I buy on Amazon- I can’t believe it’s taken me this long.  I’ve rounded out some of my top purchases, things I buy on the regular and some items I’ve bought that we use all the time but were just a one time purchase.  You can shop my whole Amazon Store here.  It has all my Amazon favorites in one place.

I’m also going to talk about some of my favorite purchases more in detail below.

Keep checking back too!  I’ll be adding to my Amazon Store as I find cool products and great deals.  I mean who doesn’t have Amazon Prime?!

I want to share with you my go too’s when it comes to saving money and time.  Amazon makes it so easy to buy organic, natural products.  I get them quick with Prime and I don’t have to shop at 5 different online retailers. Plus, as a mom it doesn’t get much easier than having things delivered right to my door!

Nuts/Seeds-

I love buying my nuts and seeds from Amazon.  You can find all the raw organic nuts and seeds you could want.  These come in handy especially for my veggie bread making and my DIY trail mix for my hubs.  They are some of the most budget friendly options on Amazon too.

Grain Free Flours-

I buy most of my grain free flours on Amazon too.  They have so much variety and the prices you can’t beat.  Especially on AIP I’ve bought most of my flours from them since most of them are specialty flours and can’t be found at even some health stores.

Home Products-

I buy a lot of home products from Amazon on the regular too.  From baby products to natural cleaning products.  Amazon makes it easy and convenient to stay on top of my ordering too with subscribe and save.

Those are items I buy on the regular from Amazon!  Check out my full Amazon store here.

Here are some notable mentions that I have to share with you!  These items are one time larger purchases but totally worth every penny in my book.  We use them every week or everyday if not multiple times per day.  I love with some of the items you buy from Amazon you can actually buy them refurbished or used. I know it may sound a little sketchy but it’s not!  The items usually haven’t even been used but just opened by someone and sent back.  You get basically a new product for a fraction of the price!

Blendtec Total Blender Classic–

I’m obsessed with my blender.  It does it all.  From smoothies, sauces, raw veggie breads, nut butters- I have yet to discover something it doesn’t do!  Why I love the Blendtec specifically is the Blendtec Twister Jar.  So you have to buy this separate from the Blender but it’s worth it!  It is a smaller jar and it literally makes any nut butter in a minute or less- no joke!  No more using your food processor for 20 minutes.  It also makes amazing sauces, like pesto in a cinch, smaller smoothies, etc.  I use this everyday!  I can’t recommend the Blendtec Blender and Twister Jar enough. Now for Amazon Prime Day be sure to snag these deals on the Blendtec!

  • 7/16 – 5:20pm-11:20pm B07N97HMXG Blendtec Designer 725 and Go Cup Bundle
  • 7/16 – 6:25am-12:25pm B01FHQVZJ6 Blendtec Classic 575 Blender – WildSide+ Jar (90 oz) and Spoonula Spatula BUNDLE White
  • 7/16 – 6:20am-12:20pm B008TVERZ6 // Blendtec Designer Series Blender Black

Breville BES870XL Barista Express Espresso Machine

Another item we use everyday.  I love that it’s stainless steel where it counts, like where heat comes in contact with the product with the steamer and espresso shots.  It makes the freshest espresso shots too because it grinds the beans right before you pull the shots through.  The steamer works amazingly too.  We’ve had this espresso machine for almost 8 years and absolutely LOVE it!  It was well worth the investment.  Plus, it looks so sleek on the counter!

Excalibur 3926TB Food Dehydrator

I’ve had my dehydrator for almost a year now and I can’t say enough good things about it.  It has been so fun trying out different recipes in it.  We use it nearly everyday too.  It makes the best kale chips- trust me, the oven has nothing on kale chips from the dehydrator!  We also use it for raw veggie bread all the time.  You can snag the raw veggie bread course here that I took from Deanna from Real Food Lab.  She’s the expert when it comes to raw veggie bread.  It has literally changed my life!  I’ve never eaten so many veggies and loved it.  The best part is, the dehydrator keeps the food in it’s raw state so all the enzymes are preserved.  It’s genius!  Trust me, check out her course and get the dehydrator! It’s amazing!

SodaStream Crystal Sparkling Water Maker Starter Kit

My hubs and I love our sparkling water- a lot!  This soda stream has been a game changer.  Instead of having to buy glass sparkling water(we wouldn’t buy plastic), we just reuse glass bottles and carbonate our own water.  Not only does it save us money, but also helps the environment.  This Soda Stream offers glass bottles and not plastic!

Instant Pot DUO80 8 Qt

I’ve had an Instant Pot for a year now and love it so.  This saves me on so many busy days!  It’s a mom’s best friend and I mean that in the best way.  It can turn chicken into shredded chicken in 30 minutes, make a mean roast in 65 minutes and soups in 20.  It makes you look like Martha Stewart but in half the time.  If you haven’t gotten one, what are you waiting for?

That rounds out some of my top Amazon picks.  What do you love getting from Amazon? Check out my full product list here.  Leave me a comment!

The Best Natural Paint

The Best Natural Paint

SO excited to chat with you all about the best natural paint!  This post has been a long time coming.  We moved into our new house in mid-November.  This is our first home we’ve owned and we couldn’t be more excited to make it our own!  We knew the first thing we wanted to do was paint it.  Paint makes such a difference.  We weren’t too fond of the color it was and wanted it to feel brighter and bigger.  However, wanting a non-toxic home is at the top of my list and I didn’t want to compromise.  Fortunately, after researching out natural paint alternatives I didn’t have too.  I found Natura Paint by Benjamin Moore and was sold!

*This post is sponsored by Benjamin Moore, however, opinions and thoughts are my own.

If you’re unsure of what makes conventional paint so toxic, let me explain.  Most paints contain VOC’s(Volatile Organic Compounds) gasses emitted from liquids or solids.  They are known to cause a host of problems from irritation to throat, nose, eyes, headaches, nausea, damage to liver, kidneys and nervous system, some of the organic compounds have even been found to cause cancer in humans.

The largest factor is indoor air quality, which according to the EPA.gov is worst inside then outside-

Studies have found that levels of several organics average 2 to 5 times higher indoors than outdoors. During and for several hours immediately after certain activities, such as paint stripping, levels may be 1,000 times background outdoor levels.

There are a number of other chemicals found in paint too besides VOC’s.  Just a few are:

  • Ammonia
  • Acetone
  • Fungicides
  • Biocides
  • Crystalline silica

Thankfully, there are waterborne paints now, instead of solvents.  Waterborne paints are such a great option for so many reasons.

  • Low odor
  • Low VOC
  • Quick dry time
  • Great durability
  • Less hazards and easy and safe clean up
  • They’ve been proven to perform in both residential and industrial buildings.

I must note that there is no perfect paint out there.  Only better options.  It’s similar to nail polish- even the best natural ones still contain  chemicals.  They have to in order to truly perform.  Paint is in the same wheel house.  There are a lot more “green” options out there now, but they also don’t perform or the colors are not aesthetically pleasing.  When choosing the paint for our house, look, feel and overall performance was a huge factor.  You may get a natural paint but if it doesn’t perform, then what’s it good for?

My friend Steph from @stephdufordlifestyle used Natura paint from Benjamin Moore and loved it.  She is very choosy in what she uses in her home too- even more so.  Her son has multiple food allergies and multiple environmental allergies.  She also has severe MCS(multiple chemical sensitivities) and has to be extremely careful.  She has painted two houses now with the Natura line and has loved the outcome in both!  She also shared this tidbit I want to pass on to you as well.  She told me they recommend those who suffer from MCS to first test out a small area on a piece of wood and see how you react or possibly take it in the car with you before doing a whole room or house.  This way you know if you tolerate it first.

Here is a quote from her:

As someone who has a child who suffers from multiple food allergies and environmental allergies, plus having MCS myself I was extremely happy with the Benjamin Moore Natura product both times we’ve used it in our homes.  It not only went on just like you would want paint too but it held up, and did not cause us any adverse reactions.

I love that the Natura line has zero emissions after 4 hours.  It also has zero VOC’s, is 100% acrylic and is a primer in one.  Plus, it has a quick dry time.  Everything felt dry after a couple hours. What’s even more exciting is it’s asthma and allergy friendly too!  Here is a quote on the asthma and allergy certification on Benjamin Moore’s website:

We created a paint that is scientifically proven to have a reduced level of allergens. The asthma & allergy friendly® Certification Program independently tests and identifies consumer products that are more suitable for those living with asthma and allergies. Natura earned the certification based on its odor, emission and VOC performance.

I love that it’s not hard to find or source Natura paint.  Just head to any Benjamin Moore paint store and it’s there.  Check out Benjamin Moore’s store finder here.  They also have thousands of colors to choose from as well- another huge draw.

We chose the color Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace OC-65, Natura, Flat– a crisp clean white, similar to soft linen.  We did our whole whole house in Chantilly Lace, except my daughter’s bedroom we did in Benjamin Moore Gray Owl OC-52, Natura, Flat.  We also didn’t paint the master bath or the kid’s bath yet- still deciding, but we did paint the 1/2 bath on the main floor(I forgot to take a before photo but it was all mint green to give you an idea).  We had all the walls in the house painted in the Chantilly Lace and then my daughter’s room painted in Gray Owl and then the baseboards and trim were painted with Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace OC-65, Natura, Semi-Gloss.  I couldn’t be more pleased with the overall outcome!  The paint looks just as you would imagine paint to look and brightened up our whole house.  As you can see below, the before and after photos show the difference paint can make!

What the painters thought-

We hired painters to paint for us.  With little kids, we knew we just wouldn’t have the time or space to do the whole house ourselves.  Plus, our house has some really high vaulted ceiling areas and it would be hard to try and get them.  The painters were excited that the paint was from Benjamin Moore.  They said it was a quality paint and good choice.  They had yet to use the Natura line from them.  I asked for their feedback after painting and they said it was a great paint!  They did go over some areas three times where it was a little darker from the previous paint but other than that they were happy with it as well.

Smell Factor-

The best part?  I could hardly smell it at all!  We stayed at my parents for a week while they painted and I would come check on it everyday and was always amazed at how little it smelled.  Even when my mom came over she kept saying she could hardly smell anything!  My nanny said the same thing.  I was excited since the biggest concern going into a paint job for me is always the smell.

I really can’t recommend this paint enough!  The quality of the paint, to the zero VOC’s, zero emissions after 4 hours, and asthma and allergy certification make this paint the best in my opinion.  Check out all of Benjamin Moore Colors here.

Of course I couldn’t write this blog post without some before and after photos.  The change is amazing!  This is just the first part of my Detox Your Home Series.  I’ll be sharing everything we do to our house as we do it, from products we get, etc.  So many of you have asked how to do it, excited to finally share the process and tips with you.  Plus, once were done I’ll be sharing the final photos of the house.  We are still in the decorating phase and haven’t put anything up or gotten new furniture yet- it all takes time.  Bottom line- I have so much more planned and can’t wait to share it with you!

*Note- I live in Washington where there are more gray days then sun, so the color doesn’t quite pop as much in my opinion.  However, the before pics give you a good idea of how much brighter it looks!  Also, I had the light on in some after photos and some I didn’t, so you could really see what the color looks like in both lightings.  I did notice in the photos with the light on the Chantilly Lace color looks a little more yellow tinted.

My AIP Journey

My AIP Journey

I finally wrote my AIP Journey down.  If you’ve followed me for even a minute you know I’ve been doing AIP now for 5 months.  I started in August 2017.  It’s now January 2018.  So many of you may be wondering what is AIP?  Well, it stands for Autoimmune Paleo or Autoimmune Protocol.  It’s the paleo diet with some modifications.  Specifically removing nuts, alcohol, seeds, butter, ghee, eggs, chocolate/cocoa, coffee and nightshades(tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, all chiles(and chile spices), sugar alternatives like stevia, xylitol.  I found these guides from Paleo Autoimmune Protocol really helpful.  The purpose of the AIP protocol is to heal the gut, reduce inflammation and lower antibodies.  Now that you know what it means, you may be asking another question- why did I do it?

Ahh yes, why avoid SO many foods!  Well I have an autoimmune condition called Hashimoto’s.  Hashimoto’s is a condition where your immune system attacks your thyroid.  Literally your body is attacking itself- not cool!  Your thyroid is part of your endocrine system and produces hormones. Overtime people can develop hypothyroidism(an under active thyroid) as a result of Hashimoto’s from an inflamed thyroid.

I ended up reading Hashimoto’s Protocol by Izabella Wentz and it really opened my eyes to what Hashimoto’s was, how I could get it under control and didn’t have to succumb to it.  I ended up following her protocol she lays out in the book.  I extended mine past the 90 days per my naturopath’s recommendation.

There are many different autoimmune conditions out there, not just Hashimoto’s.  Many people who suffer from an autoimmune condition from rheumatoid arthritis, to lupus, celiac, graves, IBS, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis, could possibly benefit from an AIP protocol.  Although there is no cure for autoimmune disease, it can be put into remission.

*The information discussed in this blog post is not a substitute for your own physician- please always seek a medical professional.

Symptoms Of Hashimoto’s-

  • Hair Loss
  • Weight Gain
  • Puffy Face
  • Joint Aches/Stiffness
  • Depression
  • Memory Lapses
  • Brittle Nails
  • Pale Dry Skin
  • Constipation
  • Sensitive to Cold
  • Fatigue

To be honest the only symptom I had was fatigue.  Even that I questioned because I had an infant and a toddler, which any mom knows accounts for sleepless nights.  I also had some hair loss but it seemed normal since I had a baby in the last 6 months and it followed what had happened to my hair with my first child.  Many people who have Hashimoto’s will tell you their symptoms are blaring and so obvious.  Mine were not.  I’ve never felt any weird digestive issues or had stomach problems either.  Sure, if I have a big bowl of ice-cream I don’t feel the best but who does?  I really don’t think anyone should be pounding straight up dairy ice-cream on the daily.

I really don’t think I would have discovered I had Hashimoto’s if it wasn’t for my blood test.  My naturopath did a complete thyroid panel on me.  When I say complete thyroid panel here is what I mean:

Complete Thyroid Panel-

  • TSH(thyroid stimulating hormone)
  • T4(free thyroxine)
  • T3(free Tri-iodothyronine)
  • Reverse T3
  • ATA(Thyroglobulin antibody)
  • TPO(Thyroid Peroxidase antibody)

Most conventional doctors will only test your TSH.  However, there in lies the problem.  Your TSH may read normal but you could still have a thyroid issue.  To get a good picture of what your thyroid is doing you need a complete thyroid panel.  Check out the Thyroid Pharmacist for more information on thyroid labs and why to get them.

You can even order your complete thyroid test on your own and have a functional doctor interpret it for you.  Check out True Health Labs.

So once I got my blood test results back I learned I had antibodies in my blood.  My antibodies were at 374.  So 0 antibodies is the ideal of course.  People can range all the way up to past 1,400.  They say the higher the antibodies the more noticeable your symptoms may be.  Which may explain why I may not have symptoms.  The thyroid is tricky too.   Some people may have really obvious symptoms but their test results come back and they have little or no antibodies.  However, their friend could have hardly any symptoms and have antibodies.  From what I’ve read this shows that the person with symptoms and no antibodies, may have a very compromised/weak immune system. You actually need some antibodies and sometimes your immune function is so weak to produce any.

The bottom line- I wanted to bring down my antibodies and figure how what was triggering an inflammatory response in my body.  Once you have an autoimmune disease it’s easier to to get more in the future if you don’t address it.  I really wanted to get to know my body and understand what was happening.  So often I’ve just relied on doctors but for the first time I wanted to take control of my health.  Food is a powerful tool in healing your body and I knew the first step was to eliminate foods so I knew what was happening in my system.

That is why I started AIP.  In a nut shell AIP takes out all the foods that may cause an inflammatory response in your body.  This gives your body a chance to heal.  You can’t heal if you’re constantly putting out fires.  Even healthy foods for some can produce an unhealthy immune response and trigger inflammation in the body.  The elimination phase of AIP can last anywhere from 30 days to 6 months for most people.  Once you’re done with the elimination phase and are starting to feel and see improvement you can start reintroductions slowly.  It’s really about getting to know what works for you.  Some people may go through AIP and when they reintroduce foods they can tolerate most foods again.  But other people find out what foods were bothering them.  Who wants to eat eggs if every time after eating them you feel nausea and your joints hurt?  Not me!  It gives you the power back to know your body and how it works best.

AIP is all about healing your gut.  When inflammation goes down and your gut begins to heal your antibodies will start to go down.  It really varies from person to person.  Be patient and trust the process.  Besides diet, stress and sleep are huge when it comes to overall healing of your body.  Don’t neglect them!  I know for myself, stress and sleep are the hardest for me.  I can follow a diet easily but my management of stress and getting enough sleep can be poor.  Throughout these 5 months my stress has gotten better but I still need to work on my sleep.

Was AIP Hard?-

Probably one of the questions I get asked the most is if AIP was hard.  It really wasn’t for me.  As I mentioned, I ate paleo for the most part before transitioning to AIP so it wasn’t a complete 360.  The hardest part was making sure I had food prepared as you can’t just grab a bar.  But once I found a system and knew snacks I could have it really helped.  I didn’t eat out at all hardly.  There were times I just brought my food to the restaurant if I didn’t want to miss out on something. However, for the most part, restaurants are really accommodating.  You can order a salad almost anywhere, so that helps.  I just customize the salad and then ask for olive oil as the dressing.

I would prep at the beginning of the week and that helped me to know I had some things on hand.  I also knew I could have a smoothie if I was in a pinch as well.  Snacks were hard to find at first but then you realize what you can have and you just make sure you have things on hand.

Favorite AIP Snacks-

  • Terra Chips Chip Plantain Sea Salt
  • Sweet Plantain Chips at Trader Joe’s
  • Barnana Organic Chewy Banana Bites
  • My AIP Energy Balls(download the recipe below)
  • Kale Chips(I would just put coconut amino and coconut oil on them and then dehydrate them)
  • Bare Natural Apple Chips(the ones with just apples, no added sweetener)
  • Apples
  • Raw Veggie Bread(I make mine in the dehydrator, all recipes from @realfoodlab E-book/Course)
  • AIP Muffins(I get my recipes from a lot of blogs)
  • I also liked making a cup of tea.  I would use Traditional Medicinals Peppermint or Ginger a lot.  I would add a little honey and some coconut milk for extra pizazz!  I really like this Aroy-d Coconut Milk 100% .

My Results-

So after doing the AIP protocol for 5 months I noticed significant improvement in my overall health.

  • No bloating
  • Less mood swings
  • Didn’t feel tired in the afternoon
  • Increased energy
  • Cut my antibodies in half

Plan Going Forward-

Going forward I am now reintroducing foods into my diet again.  I started with macadamia nuts(a less allergenic nut) and eggs.  When introducing foods it’s important to start with the foods that are the least likely to cause a reaction.  Here is a great resource for figuring out which foods to start with and which foods to not.  For ex. gluten is probably a food that would be last on the list.  Whereas seeds and eggs are easier for your body.

The next step as far as medical procedures is to do a stool test.  My naturopath recommended this as it helps to really see what’s going on in the gut. I may also do a food allergy test in a couple months.  I don’t want to be consuming foods, even though they may be good, if it’s causing my body inflammation. I’m realizing the more time goes on that there isn’t a finish line but a lifestyle and mindset shift.  Not that I think the AIP diet is forever.  From what I’ve read, AIP isn’t meant to be a long term diet.  Avoiding that many foods for so long can actually cause more problems.  Obviously everyone is different and should consult with their doctor.  I’m not where I want to be but I am better than I was.  I’ve learned it’s about getting to know your body and giving it what it needs in each season.

My next focus is to incorporate foods slowly and see how I react and feel.  Do a stool test, and focus on getting quality sleep each night.  Sleep is the hardest thing for me and something I know needs improvement.

(Random Order)

1. OSMIA Hand Soaps-

Suzi – These hands soaps scream luxe! They are so beautiful you hardly want to use them, but then you smell them and you can’t help yourself. Bar soaps in the past could seem boring and old school but Osmia has taken a simple bar soap and turned it into a must have luxury product! The perfect gift anytime of year. My fave scent is the coffee mint!

Lisa – If you have an appreciation for artisan formulators who not only perfect their craft but take it to the next level with thoughtful packaging and presentation then look no further than OSMIA. Not only are these soaps handmade, they are formulated with organic, wildcrafted, conflict-free, top shelf ingredients. It’s not uncommon for a batch of OSMIA soap to adorn $1,000 worth or organic essential oils. AND these soaps are cured two weeks longer than industry standard making them dense and long lasting. Let’s just say my heart skips a beat every time I open a new bar. Suzi says her fave is coffee mint which is next on my list. So far my fave is Milky Rose.

Snag an Osmia soap here!

2. Max and Me Oils Circle of Protection Body Oil-

Suzi – Let’s just say the moment I used this oil I knew I was going to be hooked! This body oil is the best of the best. It comes in a dark bottle that helps preserve the oil. The smell is amazing, with notes of jasmine, rose and magnolia. My skin feels so hydrated but without the greasiness, just supple and smooth. I can’t get enough- already used up two bottles!

Lisa – Three words: Max and Me knows oils. I’ve tried several of their face and body oils and they are all out of this world. We chose Circle of Protection as our #1 pick but really, any of their body oils take skin nourishment to the next level. Smooth, fast absorbing, rich in color with a whisper of fragrance, this oil is frankly a stroke of brilliance. The base of Circle of Protection is a blend of certified organic Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil (oil expressed from the kernels of this African tree), wildcrafted Marula Oil and certified organic Musk Rose Seed Oil – scented with a blend of essential oils. Light, nutty and fruity, this oil will bring you to your knees.

Grab your body oil here!

3. Aila Beauty Better Than Gel Nail Polish-

Suzi – This nail polish takes the cake when it comes to longevity. You put it on as a top coat after applying nail polish. You’ll be amazed how your manicure lasts! The kicker? It rates a 1 on EWG!

Lisa – I picked this up on a whim when I needed a new top coat and with no expectations I brought it to the salon for a mani/pedi. No joke, my pedi lasted a week longer than any pedi I’ve ever gotten. #truth And it’s cleaner than most nontoxic nail polishes!

Snag your Better than Gel here!

4. Josh Rosebrook Hair Spray

Suzi – This is a staple and must have at all times in my beauty routine. It’s the best natural hair spray I’ve come across in green beauty- it works and works well! My hair is fine and thin and this doesn’t weigh my hair down but gives it a lift. I can even brush out my hair after using it the day before and my hair is even better! Did I mention this comes in a travel size bottle as well?! I stock up on both the full size and travel size. My hubs is even hooked too! Say hello to your new favorite!

Lisa – Let’s be honest. I don’t have to buy too many beauty products these days. But this gem!? I literally buy it for myself like 4x a year. I have curly hair so every time I wash + diffuse, I finish with Josh Rosebrook’s hairspray. No ifs, ands or buts about it. You can use it lightly to maintain volume and control fly-aways or layer it for a strong hold. This is hands down the best hairspray green beauty has to offer. And just when you thought the world couldn’t get any better, try and pick your chin up off the floor when you look at the ingredients and wonder how Josh can lock your waves into place using brown rice, yuca starch and glycerin (all certified organic of course).

Get your hair spray here!

5. Mahalo The Bean Antioxidant Mask-

Suzi – This mask smells amazing and truly gives you a glow after using. It helps to even out skin tone more than any others I’ve used! It hydrates and detoxes but doesn’t dry your skin out. This mask instantly transports you to the island of Hawaii where it’s made by hand. The amount of dedication that goes into each batch is truly amazing! You won’t be disappointed!

Lisa – From start to finish the entire Bean experience is next level skincare. First, be still my heart with their hand carved glass-in-wood packaging. Next, raw + organic ingredients sourced from co-ops, biodynamic farms (as well as homegrown) are thoughtfully handcrafted in Kauai, Hawaii. This chocolate creamy mask will transform your skin. And I don’t say that lightly. I was converted the day it evened and brightened my sunburned cheeks and forehead. Best mask of the year right here!

Get your mask on here!

6. Hush + Dotti Mascara-

Suzi – This mascara is an all around winner. It gives my lashes separation, length and doesn’t come off during the day. Plus, no irritation at all! It gets better the more you use it too! The formula gets better after some air has gotten to it. Give it two weeks and you’ll have vixen lashes for days!

Lisa – I think every girl would agree with me. It’s a “lashes or bust” world and we are just living in it. Lashes tie a whole look together and Hush + Dotti does not disappoint. This formula lengthens like the best of ’em and with a couple of coats your will have va va voom volume that will stop anyone in their tracks.

Grab your mascara here!

7. Agent Nateur Holi Rose Deodorant-

Suzi – This deodorant takes the cake for best natural deodorant. It goes on so smooth, no scraping your underarms anymore, it smells amazing and best of all- it works! I can put it on and get two days wear out of it- smelling fresh! I’ve had no irritation either!

Lisa – This deo does it all. Eliminates odor, goes on smooth and keeps me dry. Yeah I said it. This formula keeps me dryer than any other natural formula out there and not only does it eliminate odor, it actually makes me smell like roses. Oh and I used a whole stick without experiencing any irritation.

Snag your deodorant here!

8. LIVE Botanical Honey Rose Cleansing Mask-

Suzi – This mask is everything! I use it everyday in the morning to wake my skin up. I put it on when I’m brushing my teeth and then rinse it off after. It’s my cleanser and mask in one. It gives my skin a pick me up and glow for the rest of the day! The exfoliant in the mask isn’t harsh at all- which I love. Gentle enough to use everyday. Your skin will thank you! Did I mention it’s only $28?! Carolyn the founder really knows her stuff and takes great lengths to make sure the products are made with the best of the best.

Lisa – Suzi and I met LIVE Botanical formulator Carolyn at iBE Dallas and we were both so impressed with this up and coming brand. Her sourcing is crazy clean and her passion for formulating is palpable. But better than any of that is her Honey Rose Cleansing Mask. This mask exfoliates and cleans in two ways – with herbal grains (manual) and fruit enzymes (chemical). And it’s super versatile. You can use it as a mask and let it sit or you can use it immediately as a cleanser/exfoliator. Either way, get ready to GLOW girl!

9. Maya Chia Highlight of the Day-

Suzi – This illuminating serum is a staple in my makeup routine. It instantly gives my skin a glow and lights up my whole complexion. I love the color After Hours, it wakes up tired skin and yet looks natural. I mix mine with foundation or just apply it on top.

Lisa – Anytime my makeup doubles as skincare, I’m in. But when it surpasses pro-lines in both performance and health….there’s nothing left to do but shout it from the rooftops! The Highlight of the Day comes in three “colors” and I love them all. Each brings a certain je ne sais quoi to my look. I love it for my cheek bones, Cupid’s Bow, bridge of my nose and if I want to get jiggy with it, a little mixed into my moisturizer for my décolletage too.

10. Kjaer Weis KW Red Lipstick-

Suzi – This red lipstick is the quintessential red color for everyone. It’s a classic hands down. I love that with one swipe I can transform my look from ho hum to next level. The formula is so good too. It has a weighty feel for a lipstick formula and stays put on the lips all day. You’ll feel like a goddess carrying around this lipstick! The packaging is so chic too!

Lisa – This red looks good on both warm or cool skin tones and takes your look from subtle to bold in just a few strokes. If you’ve never found a red that works for you..look no further than KW Red. My favorite thing about this lipstick (okay I have two fave things) is it’s matte so it wont move. It literally stays put all day and I love that I don’t have to worry about getting it on my teeth or it smudging onto my skin. I also love the packaging here. The lipstick tube sits heavy in my hand and is like a piece of jewelry for my bag. It’s also refillable so when you run out, you can stock up next time (or change shades) for almost half the price.

11. True Botanicals Shampoo and Conditioner-

Suzi – Want a natural shampoo and conditioner that makes your hair feel clean all the time? This is it! These are game changers when it comes to giving your hair the cleanest feeling possible. No more greasy hair from natural shampoos that don’t work! I have fine/thin hair and this works amazing for my hair. Lisa has thick curly hair and she loves it as well! Bottom line- it works all around! My hair has never felt cleaner using a natural shampoo- they nailed the formula.

Lisa – I looked far and wide, high and low and almost gave up on ever having that clean hair feeling again (sans toxins) until I met True Botanicals. Seriously. Not only does this formula clean my hair (like it truly CLEANS) but it also leaves my scalp moisturized and nourished. No itchiness or dryness from the winter season. This duo is my dessert island “must take with me” pick. True Botanicals also has a subscription option where you can select the frequency at which your items get delivered and you save 10%! Every 8 weeks is perfect for me and I adjust as I go because I don’t use conditioner as fast as I use shampoo.

12. Khus Khus Sans Age Face Serum-

Suzi – This face oil is so soothing. I put it on my skin and it instantly absorbs, giving it a supple feel. No greasy residue left behind, plus I wake up with perfectly hydrated skin. A newfound fave! I love how calming this serum is too with the blue tansy helping to soothe skin. Say goodbye to redness and ruddy skin and hello to bright and even skin!

Lisa – I love KHUS + KHUS face serums. I’ve tried their Sans Age and Blossom and both are magnificent. Sans Age has the slightest blue tint to it and smells like Blue Tansy. Made with all organic + sustainably wild crafted oils and CO2 extracts, KHUS + KHUS doesn’t play when it comes to using only the best ingredients. I love how this oil makes my face feel: supple, plump and well fed.
