Metta Skincare Review

Metta Skincare sent me some body butter and hand cream and let’s just say I was giddy to get them! I had read only great things about their products, and had tried them at The Detox Market in L.A. However, I did’t get the full experience until I started using them regularly. So why do I love this indie skincare brand so much?

Well, for starters their products are made with the utmost care in Melbourne, Australia. They use only the purest organic ingredients. No synthetics or fillers in these beauties. All products contain cold pressed oil, nothing altered by heat. Oh and did I mention they’re all handcrafted by hand for the freshest and most active products. Pure and fresh ingredients, does it get any better? Actually, with Metta it does! Their skincare products are also packaged in glass recyclable containers. Not only does this preserve freshness it also minimizes waste.  Even their labels on the glass jars are printed on 100% tree free Stone-Paper, which is totally recyclable.  Anca, the founder has always had a passion for healthy living.  After some research she became aware of the chemicals in skincare products.  She was determined to help people make informed decisions about skincare-and boy is she doing just that!

Not only did I fall in love with the mission of Metta but also their amazing products!  Allow me to introduce you to a couple of them.

Body Butter-

I’ve fallen hard for this body butter.  You may be asking what’s so great about this body butter?  Well, allow me to explain.  It isn’t like any other body butter that I’ve used.  As a blogger, I get a lot different products sent my way.  However, I know something is truly great when I keep reaching for it.  Metta was just that for me- I couldn’t get enough.  It looks like whipped butter when you open it, but the minute it touches your skin it’s like an oil.  As a hard core body oil fan, you can imagine I was happily surprised when this happened.  When you rub it in it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy, but just balanced and hydrated-it’s perfection on your skin.  Oh and a little goes a long way.  My hubs- a harsh critique, even loved it.  The smell is great as well.  Subtle notes of lavender mixed with a cacao butter smell.  Trust me when I say you all need this decadent body butter! $47

Hand Balm-

This hand balm is just like the name suggests-more of a balm then a hand cream.  It’s much creamier then the body butter.  A little goes a long way with this beauty as well.  It also melts into an oil feel when you put it on.  However, the oily feeling quickly resides, and your left with perfectly hydrated hands.  The scent is really mild again, hints of lavender but nothing overwhelming.  I love applying right before I go to bed- I wake up with happy, hydrated hands.  My hands have never been softer!  I definitely recommend for those with dry/cracked hands, or if you just want a really amazing moisturizer- your skin will thank you!  $22

Great review Suzi! Both products are so heavenly and I agree about the body butter- I’ve never tried one quite like it.
