Cocokind Sunscreen Review

Cocokind has been a brand that I keep seeing more and more of. With summer on the horizon, I thought what better time to try out their sunscreen and give a full Cocokind Sunscreen Review!

Daily SPF Sunscreen Lotion is a winner according to the Cocokind reviews. What makes the Daily SPF 32 formula unique is that it provides protection during sun exposure and during screen time by mitigating the effects of blue light and pollution.

Daily SPF blocks the sun’s UV rays using non-nano zinc oxide. It uses blue phytoplankton and microalgae to shield skin from blue light exposure and urban pollution.

This optimal sun protection is non-irritating, mineral-based and blends effortlessly into the skin, even under makeup, providing a natural-looking finish.

Active Ingredient

Cocokind Daily SPF contains 21% non-nano zinc oxide. Zinc oxide acts as a physical sunscreen. It provides broad spectrum SPF protection and helps protect the skin from signs of premature aging and the risk of skin cancer.

Other Ingredients

Blue Phytoplankton Spirulina Maxima Extract – Helps protect the skin from blue light that is emitted through sunlight and digital screens. It also contains phycocyanin, which provides antioxidant protection.

Microalga Phaeodactylum Tricornutum Extract – Serves as a barrier between your skin and the damaging effects particulate matter found in environmental stressors. It also helps to fortify the skin through a protein called filaggrin.

Rice starch – Rice starch is used because it absorbs excess sebum, providing a natural finish.

Not only does Cocokind Daily SPF protect against sun damage, but also blue light and environmental stressors.

Is Cocokind Daily SPF A Mineral Or Chemical Based Sunscreen?

Cocokind Daily SPF is a mineral-based sunscreen, or a physical sunscreen, because it uses zinc oxide to filter the sun’s UVA rays and UVB rays. However, Silk SPF, another sunscreen by Cocokind, is a hybrid because it’s both a chemical and mineral sunscreen. So, while I do like the Cocokind Daily SPF, I won’t be using their other sunscreen products.

Cocokind Daily SPF Claims

  1. Protect– It does a great job of protecting the skin with SPF 32. It’s actually hard to find an SPF for the face that has that high of coverage. Most are usually SPF 25 at the highest.
  2. Moisturize– It does feel moisturizing on the skin, but doesn’t feel greasy at all. Really soaks in so well into the skin. Your skin still feels nourished afterwards, and smooth.
  3. Non Irritating– It isn’t irritating at all when applied. I had no stinging on my skin.
  4. Soft, Matte Finish– I really love the finish on this sunscreen. Many facial sunscreens are a little too oily and end up giving your skin a greasy look. This really moisturizes but gives your skin a matte finish which I love.
  5. Application – It doesn’t leave a white cast and I was so impressed with how clear it rubbed in. You couldn’t tell the difference between one side of the face that had it applied and the side that didn’t.
No white cast from Cocokind’s mineral sunscreen!

How To Apply

Apply Daily SPF 15 minutes before going out in the sun and reapply every 2 hours. You will want to apply it as the last step in your skincare routine and before your makeup.

Thankfully, you won’t dread applying this sunscreen because it blends in well and doesn’t leave a white cast on your face.

Is There Any Scent?

Nope – Cocokind Daily SPF is fragrance-free!

Is It Non-Comedogenic?

Non-comedogenic is a misnomer because there are no standardized tests to determine what ingredients will clog pores or create breakouts. With that said, Daily SPF is formulated to be suitable for all skin types, including oily or blemish-prone skin. That being said, I would say it does contain some coconut oil which is not non-comedogenic.

Where Can It Be Purchased?

You can buy Cocokind Daily SPF from the Cocokind website. It’s also readily available at many stores including Target, Ulta, and Whole Foods and of course Amazon. You can even use their store link to find the stores in your area that carry Daily SPF.

Customer reviews are very positive about this mineral facial sunscreen!

This is the best SPF I have found yet! you cannot go wrong with the price and the ingredients. I have been searching for a clean SPF that doesn’t leave a white cast and my face oily…. and this is the one! I love it

This SPF is not oily and feels very light when I use it daily. I can workout and it does not burn. Reasonable price also. Worth it.

I love this SPF. It doesn’t feel greasy and doesn’t leave a strange grey film or anything like that and I love knowing that it is made with quality ingredients.

I love how smooth it goes on and blends into my skin!

I have tan skin and this was a really good sunscreen that did not make my face white as long as you rub it in well. It did not feel heavy on my skin.
