If you haven’t heard about LolaVie, let me fill you in!

About The Brand

LolaVie is a hair care brand that launched in 2021 and the founder is none other than Jennifer Aniston. Talk about famous hair! But beyond that Jennifer is an entrepreneur that has a love for medical journals, advances in technology and of course beauty and health innovations. Put that all together and you have the makings of a pretty amazing brand.

The vision for the brand is to combine the best of science and nature without sacrificing!

Products Available

Jennifer has had a hand in all the formulations, making sure they live up to her standards. LolaVie is very methodical in the production of new products. There is no rush to get the next best thing to production and they create new products one at a time.

Currently they have the following products:

  • Intensive Repair Treatment ($32)
  • Restorative Shampoo ($29)
  • Restorative Conditioner ($29)
  • Glossing Detangler ($26)
  • Perfecting Leave-In ($29)
  • Lightweight Hair Oil ($32)
  • Lolavie Wet Brush Pro Flex Dry ($15)
  • Restore & Protect Travel Kit ($40)

LolaVie takes its time when introducing new products – introducing just one product at time.

Ingredients

LolaVie products are made without silicones, sulfates (SLS/SLES), parabens, gluten and phthalates. They are cruelty free and Leaping Bunny certified.

They also choose to swap out water in their products with bamboo essence. The reason for this is that bamboo is the fastest growing (regenerating) land plant. So instead of using our clean water supply for their products, LolaVie chooses to use bamboo essence instead.

The especially great part about this is that it would otherwise be discarded. LolaVie is instead using it as an active (and sustainable) ingredient in their formulations.

There are a couple of ingredients that caught my eye and are worth mentioning: ( I did email them and ask about these ingredients to get more clarification, but they didn’t reply).

Cocamidopropyl Betaine- This can cause allergic reactions in some and contact dermatitis. It’s not the actual ingredient but the processing of it and the by-products it produces.  However, it depends on the sources.  High quality sources of Cocamidopropyl Betaine don’t contain the by-products.  Important to look into sourcing. (Found in shampoo)

Behenamidopropyl Dimethylamine- This is more of a concern if it’s left on the skin.  However, this is found in the conditioner and you’re rinsing it off. The concern is allergic and sensitivity to the eyes.

Behentrimonium Methosulfate- This ingredient has been linked to low toxicity, however I think the way the product is used should determine how much is actually being absorbed.  Overall, you’re washing the product off since this is found in the Intensive Repair Treatment. (This can also be found in the Perfecting Leave-In).

Packaging

Another way that LolaVie is decreasing their impact on the environment is with recyclable packaging. Before throwing out any packaging, limit your impact on the environment by checking how to best recycle it.

Conclusion: Is LolaVie Worth The Hype?

I was impressed by all the LolaVie products.  They really performed and reminded me of salon worthy hair products.  Often there is so much hype about celebrity products that it’s hard to know until you try them, however, LolaVie really lived up to the hype.

    Hi Terri,

I apologize for the confusion! I can see where you would think that. It was a typo error when we were copying it from our rough draft. I did in fact use the product and knew that it wasn’t a spray. I also have used the products on my sister and specifically the Perfecting Leave In and it works wonders. Again, I apologize for the typo and misleading you!

Hey! I’m relatively new to your site, but I have loved your articles about clean beauty. I am currently using the Innersense Shampoo and Conditioner that you mentioned in the article. I like it and my hair has slowly reduced oil over time but does still produce more than I’d like. I don’t want to completely sacrifice clean product for performance. Between overall performance and how “green/clean” the product is, would you still vouch for Innersense over this product line?

      Hi Brooke,

I still love Innersense! I like their Clarity line for my fine/thin hair. I don’t think LolaVie is an unclean line, maybe not as clean as Innersense. Have you tried different shampoos and conditioners from Innsersense? There might be one that is better suited to your hair type?
