February’s Natural Beauty Box Roundup

February’s Natural Beauty Box Roundup

Excited to share with you February’s natural beauty box roundup!  From natural hair products to natural skincare- I’ve got something for everyone.  I always love seeing what’s in the beauty boxes for each month.  It’s a little gift to myself each month!  If you’ve been looking for a gift idea for someone or maybe even a Valentine’s Day gift idea, a natural beauty box would be a great place to start.

Beauty Heroes: February Discovery- Tabitha James

Tabitha James Kraan Beauty Heroes

Beauty Heroes February natural beauty box features Tabitha James Kraan.

This month we are seeing Tabitha James Kraan in February’s Beauty Heroe’s Box.  This box contains both her Clean Shampoo and Conditioner and Hair Oil.  Tabitha James Kraan is from the UK. She is a stylist herself, so she really understands what the hair needs and wants.  Something I appreciate as a hair stylist too!

After researching organic and biodynamic ingredients she realized she wanted to create products that were clean but effective.  She knew in order to achieve this she would have to do this on her own.  In 2013, Tabitha James Kraan Hair Organics was started.  With hair as their passion, they seek to create innovative products.

Heroic Product: The Clean Shampoo and Condtioner – The Clean Shampoo works at detoxifying the hair. Especially great for those who are transitioning from conventional shampoos and conditioners.  It creates a lather, but not using harsh synthetics.  It is scented with 100% essentials oils of tea tree, rosemary, tangerine, lavender, myrrh, bergamot and neroli.  The smell is completely natural but still pretty strong.  If you are sensitive to scent, it might be too much.  When I used it, I found I needed to wash my hair a couple times for it to really get that clean feeling.  I also think it can take a while for hair to get used to the shampoo and conditioner.

Sidekick: Scented Organic Hair Oil-The hair oil is great to apply to the scalp and hair before shampooing and conditioning.  This really can help promote shine and restore lackluster locks.  I applied it to my scalp and hair an hour or two before shampooing to deeply nourish and hydrate my hair.  I found I only needed a small amount especially for my find and thin hair. For me this would be something I would use every month.  It can also be using as a finished product on dry hair to add some shine.

Best part is you can get this fabulous box right now for such a steal!  This box is valued at $122 but you can snag it for $42.95.  Hop on it now if you’re thinking of getting it.  Get Beauty Heroes February’s Discovery here!

The Clean Beauty Box(formerly Art Of Organics): February Box Featuring LILFOX-

The Clean Beauty Box LILFOX

Clean Beauty is featuring the lovely LILFOX for the February box.

Cleopatra Restorative Milk + Honey Beauty Mask-   This is a dry mask.  I really appreciate dry masks at times for a good detox, and also because they last longer than a traditional mask since they aren’t activated until you mix them with water.  I feel you get the full potency right as your mixing it with water, creating for yourself your own little spa treatment.  The mask incorporates coconut milk, crushed rose petals, honey and french rose clay.  Plus resurfacing enzymes of pineapple and papaya.  I typically am not drawn to dry masks, because my skin is dry and they tend to detoxify so well that my skin is also left feeling quite taut.  But I must say the Cleopatra was a different mask all together.  It really exfoliated my skin more than any other dry mask has and gave it such a smooth feeling.  My skin didn’t feel moisturized necessarily but that isn’t the job of a detox mask.  My makeup went on smoother and I felt I had a little skin resurfacing right in my own bathroom-not too shabby!

Aphrodite Rose Quartz Infused Rose Toning Mist- This rose mist smells amazing.  The rose isn’t overpowering at all-but subtle.  Rose is so soothing and this toning mist gives off that vibe completely.  I love spraying it on after I cleanse my skin before my serums and oils.  It’s the perfect skin balancer.  It leaves my skin feeling moist and supple.  Did I mention the glass containers-oh yeah I did, well I just love them!

This box is perfect for a good skin detox. The box is valued at $112, but you can get it right now for $41.95! Such a great box and the price is amazing! Snag the The Clean Beauty Box here!

The Detox Box For February: Fitglow Beauty

The Detox Box February Box

The Detox Box is on fire this month with Fitglow Beauty Products!

Vegan Good Lash Mascara- It gives my lashes volume, separation and some drama.  It definitely lifts them up and creates a lash that you can’t help but notice!  I love how you can build the formula on top of your lashes.  The formula is overall thicker but easy to apply to the lashes.  The brush on it is different than any other I’ve used.  It starts out wide and then gets narrower.  Great for getting the bitty lashes in the corner of the eye.

Vita-Active Serum- This serum is meant to be worn underneath a moisturizer.  It isn’t hydrating on it’s own.  It’s packed full of Plant Stem Cells.  These help the skin repair itself, and turn over quickly to reveal a newer, more radiant complexion.  It has a combo of 20% Vitamin C and 20% Botanical Hyaluronic Acid-a powerful skin duo!  The serum is also vegan.  Oh and before I forget this serum smells so good-like orange creamsicles.  The biggest thing I noticed overall with the serum is my skin seemed more radiant.  My skin looked more even too.  The redness I had in spots had faded.  I love that it’s not a moisturizing oil/serum, but just a serum.  I feel like it targets my skin better this way…no oil to get in the way.  A great serum for those wanting to see results.

Eye C Firm-  This Eye C Firm cream for under the eyes is such a great under eye taskmaster.  It absorbs so well, leaves the skin feeling firm and gets in there and deliveries key nutrients like coQ10, caffeine, peptides and Vitamins C and K.  I use my ring finger(least amount of muscles) and pat in a small amount right underneath the eye area.  I apply it morning and evening.  You can even put it in the fridge overnight and apply it in the morning for a cooling and de-puffing effect!

This is such a stellar box!  The value is $166 but you can snag the box for $55!  Snag the box before it’s too late.  Grab The Detox Box here!

Boxwalla February Box- Siam Seas-

Boxwalla February Box Siam Seas

Boxwalla February Box featuring Siam Seas.

Boxwalla is a nice change of pace for a natural beauty box because it’s only delivered bi-monthy.  It’s a little different from the monthly boxes.  It really focuses on curating specialty products from natural skincare artisans.  It’s always a treat to see what is the box every other month.

Body Serum- This body serum is so luxurious and really so unique.  I haven’t used anything like it before!  It’s not a body oil, or a cream but a serum.  It would almost seem like it’s not going to hydrate as well but then you apply it to your skin and it drinks it up.  It not only is hydrating but it doesn’t leave your skin with a oily residue or sticky feeling at all.  I love applying it after I bathe.  I honestly can’t get enough and have been reaching for it constantly!

Clear Skin Serum- This is also a unique product.  This serum is really a powerhouse when it comes to delivering antioxidants to your skin.  It contains Vitamin C and platoon extracts to help with skin texture, smoothness and to brighten and minimize redness.  When I first applied it, it felt different because there were tiny granules but once you worked it into your skin they completely disperse.  Leaving you with a glow!

This is another box from Boxwalla that really hits the marks when it comes to unique products that deliver results!  I would snag this box before it’s sold out!  Word on the street they’re going fast!  Get the box here!

BEAUTYCOUNTER REVIEW

BEAUTYCOUNTER REVIEW

So excited to finally share my Beautycounter review!  I’ve been wanting to share about the products since I joined but wanted to give it some time so I could really get a feel for them and give you some good feedback.

I wrote a blog post sharing why I decided to join Beautycounter back in December.  It’s a really in depth post, so I encourage you to check it out if you haven’t.  I share what held me back in the past from trying the products, ingredients I wasn’t sure about and about the business side.  Basically if you want to know more about Beautycounter go read it.  Check it out here!

Also, I would be doing you a disservice if I talked all about the products but didn’t tell you a bit about the business side of it.  I’m not afraid to tell you I make money off of the products when you purchase them under my name and I hope it’s something more women will feel comfortable sharing.  That’s one of the reasons why I decided to join Beautycounter because I love that it supports women in business and working it into their lives.  I’ve heard so many stories of women being able to send their kids to a private school they had always wanted too, to pay for ballet lessons, take their family on a vacation- the list is endless!  That is definitely not something I want to be ashamed of.  If anything I want women to feel more empowered to help provide for their family.

Besides women empowerment, I also just love the fact that I’m spreading the message of clean beauty.  That’s why I started my blog in the first place, to spread this message with more people.  Beauty counter’s advocacy work is literally paving the way for natural beauty!  As we join arms, it’s raising a louder voice that we want safer products into the hands of everyone.  That is something to get excited about!

Beautycounter product review

Get the scoop on Beautycounter products!

As we join arms, it’s raising a louder voice that we want safer products into the hands of everyone.

How cool is it that a women can become a Beautycounter consultant while still participating in her life?!  They can still make their kid’s soccer games, work another job, and be a stay at home mom- pretty cool.  So if you’re wanting more information on how to get involved in Beautycounter and what that might look like for you, send me an email to [email protected]  Would love to have you share this mission with me, while creating income for you and your family!

Ok, clearly I’m passionate about this company and all that it stands for!  Now on to my review.  I’ll be sharing more products as I test them out but for now I wanted to share some standouts.

MAKEUP

Tint Skin-

I was so jazzed to try this foundation!  There’s always a few products in a makeup line that I get really excited about- foundation is one of them.  This foundation is definitely in my favorite foundations category.  It is hydrating but not so much so that it looks shiny.  It blends so well and looks like your skin.  I love how buildable it is.  If I want a more laid back look I can achieve it with Tint Skin, if I want a more pulled together look I can use a bit more.  If you’ve been looking for a light to medium coverage foundation try Tint Skin!  I wear the color Linen.

Dew Skin-

I tried this first before trying Tint Skin and really liked how easy it was to use.  However, after using Tint Skin I prefer it over Dew Skin.  But that’s just me.  You may want really minimal coverage and more of a tinted moisturizer feel and look, then Dew Skin is for you.  It blends so well into the skin, you would hardly notice you’re wearing much.  It’s super hydrating too! I wear the color No. 2.

Concealer Pen-

I really like the application of this concealer pen.  I especially love it for underneath my eye area.  I don’t like it as much for covering my hyper pigmentation on my cheeks.  I find it doesn’t give the coverage I like. But for under my eyes I really like it for covering dark circles.  If you tend to get creasing I would set it with their mattifying powder here. Just a little sprinkle will help it from settling in fine lines.

Beautycounter review

Beautycounter eyeshadows are the best in green beauty!

Eyeshadow-

Ok, if you’ve been following me then you know I love Beautycounter’s eyeshadow palettes!  They are the BEST in green beauty.  Seriously- I’ve tried them all and nothing compares.  The pigment is rich, the texture glides on and the longevity- SO good.  They stay the whole day no creasing.  I use the Ilia Primer before I apply the shadows and it works like a charm.  I can’t tell you how many people compliment my shadows too- it’s because they’re seriously gorgeous.  I can’t get enough of them.  I have the Classic Palette, but I want them all!

Lip Sheers-

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I tried these and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked them.  One of Beautycounter’s best sellers for good reason.  It feels like a really hydrating lip balm but not goopy or tacky.  Glides on your lips giving a hint of sheen and some color. The color pigment is more translucent and just a hint.  The perfect everyday lip color to throw on.  I can see myself wearing these a lot especially in the summer.  I have the color Rose, a pretty subtle pink hue.  These would be great for teenagers especially in my opinion.  Not as dramatic as a lipstick.

Color Intense Lipstick-

Another best seller from Beautycounter.  These lipsticks give your lips some serious color pigment.  They’re hydrating but not so much that your lipstick is everywhere.  I love how rich they feel on the lips.  Velvety and smooth.  I have three colors, Girls’ Night, 9 to 5, and Backstage- and I love them all!  9 to 5 is literally just as the name implies- the perfect color to wear from 9-5.  It’s not too bold but gives your face a pulled together look.  Girls’ Night is your quintessential candy apple red.  It can be bold but it also can be paired down too.  If I want a more subtle approach I just apply less and it almost looks like more of a lip stain.  Backstage is the nude everyone needs in their lipstick collection.  It pairs great with smoky, dramatic eyes or for an overall dressed down look.  Can’t go wrong with any of them!

Liquid Liner-

I was super duper excited to try this liner out!  Finding a good liner in green beauty is definitely no small task.  This one did not disappoint!  It is very pigmented which I love and it lasts.  I actually like applying mine with a liner brush instead of the brush that comes with it.  Makes it go on so much smoother and easier.  I’ve had several followers tell me it’s their favorite liquid liner too- can’t argue with that!

Did you know Beautycounter just launched their Men’s line this week: Counterman?!  Check it out here!

Satin Blush-

I was sold after my first swipe of their blushes- literally these are the best powder blushes I’ve used.  I love that they’re pressed and not loose- less mess.  I also love the color pay off. They nailed the color Nectar!  It’s the perfect Nars dupe of Orgasm and basically goes with almost anyone’s skin tone.  It’s SO pretty!  I also have the punchy pink color Guava and can’t get enough of it either. They stay on so well and blend so well into the skin.  They don’t look cakey at all.   I’m telling you, try the blushes already- you’ll thank me!

Bronzer-

This bronzer was another fave.  People ask me what bronzer I have been using lately and it’s this one!  The moment I tried it I knew I would love it.  I’m picky when it comes to bronzers- super picky.  I find it’s really hard to find a true bronze brown color and not have it look orange.  Anyone else feel me on this?!  Then Beautycounter’s came into my lap and I haven’t been able to stray since using it.  It doesn’t look orange and it’s pressed- I repeat pressed!  Loose bronzers are just one more step and messy- not what I want to add to my plate.  Get the bronzer too- everyone needs bronzer in my opinion, it warms you up in seconds!

Cream Blush-

I tried the cream blush later and I have to say it’s another great product.  They really thought the delivery out well with this one.  I love that it comes in a stick form- makes it so easy to apply.  I just apply a few swipes to my cheeks and blend in with my fingers.  Looks soft and dewy. Great for the winter when skin can start looking a little drab.  I also love applying this first and then applying a swipe of the powder satin blush.  Give my cheeks a pop and helps the blush last even longer. I have the color Hibiscus.

Lip Gloss-

I’m not a gloss girl at heart. However, I do love adding a little bit every now and then for a little dewiness to my lips.  I’m picky about my glosses though and was pleasantly surprised when I tried Beautycounter’s and fell hard for it.  They aren’t goopy or gunky.  They glide on so well and offer sheen plus a hint of color.  I love the Bare Shimmer color I have.  I layer it on top of lip liners or lipstick to add a subtle hint of shine.  If you’re a gloss girl you will love these!

Lip Balm-

This is one of my favorite products!  I knew I would like it.  It is a serious hydrating lip balm that doesn’t mess around!  It offers moisture and protection.  I apply this at night and I wake up with silky smooth lips.  It comes in several scents but I’m partial to the peppermint- always got to have my mint!

Beautycounter natural product review

Two of my favorites in Beautycounter, the Cleansing Balm and Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser.

SKINCARE

Resurfacing Peel-

I had to start with the resurfacing peel!  If you haven’t tried it you’re missing out, plain and simple.  It works so well at minimizing fine lines, dark spots and sloughing off dead skin.  It uses 3 different acids, malic, lactic and glycolic to improve texture and tone of the skin.  You put it on your skin like you would a serum at night and wake up with skin that looks refreshed, smooth and glowing.  I’m not surprised this is a best seller!  Get the peel already.

Cleansing Balm-

This is another best seller and one of my favorites. I really can’t get enough of this cleansing balm.  It feels so good on the skin.  I apply a nickel size amount to my hands and rub in circular motions all over my skin to remove makeup.  It gets rid of it all, from eye makeup and foundation.  Then I take a warm washcloth and wipe off the balm.  My skin feels hydrated but clean.  It smells so good too!  It also works as an overnight mask if your skin is really needing a little extra moisture and tlc.

Countercontrol Clear Pore Cleanser-

This was another product that I can’t stop using.  It really acts like a conventional cleanser minus the toxins.  It gets a little sudsy and clears away all the extra grime.  My skin feels so clean but not stripped.  I love using this after the cleansing balm to get every last drop of makeup, and grime off from the day.  It’s a really reasonable price as well.  It has tiny jojoba beads in it as well that help to slough off skin cells.  Nothing to abrasive at all.  A great pick for teens as well!

Balancing + Charcoal Mask-

At first I wasn’t too sure about this mask.  My skin tends to run on the dry to normal side and I was concerned it would be too drying for me.  I realized I only need to apply it where I want to clean out and detox my pores.  I apply it to my t-zone area and thats it.  It helps to really draw out pores but it’s not drying out the rest of my skin.  A win/win in my book!

Beautycounter-review

Quotes throughout Beautycounter’s Headquarters!

Countermarch Eye Rescue Cream-

This eye cream is one of the best eye creams.  I find it hard to find eye creams that aren’t too heavy.  This one is just the right amount of moisture.  It hydrates but quickly soaks right into the eye area.  I love using this at night or in the morning before I apply my makeup.  It’s also not crazy expensive too!

Facial Oils-

Beautycounter has 3 facial oils.  A Brightening Oil, Plumping Oil and a Balancing Oil.  Depending on your skin type and what you’re looking to achieve there is one for most people.  I use the Brightening a lot, it’s for combination skin.  It’s not super heavy but offers enough hydration.  I also have been using the Plumping Oil at night for a little extra since it’s winter.  I’ve noticed my skin tends to need a little more in this season.  The Plumping Oil is great for those with mature skin, dry skin.  The Balancing Oil is perfect for anyone with oily skin or acne skin.  These are best sellers as well!

Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion-

This lotion is great.  It really works so well.  It can be worn underneath makeup easily because it’s not super heavy or can be layered at night over your facial oils for a little more hydration.  This is another best seller that people can’t get enough of.  I love that it doesn’t have a strong scent either.  Just a good all around facial lotion.

Countermatch Recovery Sleeping Cream-

This cream is a heavier than the lotion and is going to give your skin the extra surge of hydration that it needs. I would recommend this to anyone that is needing a little more moisture for their skin.  A lot of people will layer this over oils at night or use by itself.  I found for me I needed an oil before this because it wasn’t hydrating enough on it’s own.  I haven’t tried the Rejuvenating Cream yet but it’s a best seller and people have told me it’s the next step to hydration from this cream.  I’ll share my thoughts when I try it out!

Eye Makeup Remover-

If you’ve been following me on social media you know I can’t get enough of this eye makeup remover!  I used to be obsessed with Mary Kay’s Eye Makeup Remover back in the day…but clearly I gave that up! 😉 When I saw that Beautycounter had one I knew I had to try it.  Well, let’s just say I now have a new fave!  This eye makeup remover performs so well.  It removes my eye makeup effortlessly and my lipstick with no oily residue.  Fan girl for life!

One Step Makeup Remover Wipes-

Say hello to your new favorite wipe…but really!  These are in a league of their own.  I kept hearing people say to try the wipes and so of course I did!  These wipes have the perfect moisture amount.  I had yet to find a green beauty wipe that worked so well.  They were either to dry or not soft enough.  Beautycounter hit all the marks on these wipes.  They are soft, moist and even biodegradable.  If you’re a wipe gal you need these!  Perfect for travel too.  You could even cut them in half to make them last longer.

HAIR/BODY

Daily Shampoo and Conditioner-

I initially liked how my hair felt using the Daily Shampoo and Conditioner but then after using it for a while I ended up not.  My hair is fine and thin and it felt like it didn’t get clean enough with the Daily Shampoo and Conditioner.  My hair felt blah and wasn’t doing what I wanted it to do.  I have friends who have similar hair types to me and they love the volume shampoo and conditioner.  I haven’t tried it, but once I do, I’ll let you know!

Body Lotion-

The body lotion is so decadent and hydrating!  Did I mention the smell?  It is citrus mimosa and smells oh so good.  I love that it comes in a tube for travel.  It hydrates but doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy.  People that love a good lotion always love the Beautycounter lotion- can’t blame them!

Body Cream-

So if the body lotion isn’t hydrating enough, the body cream will be.  It is truly so hydrating and indulgent.  It has the same citrus memos scent that makes you want to lather this everywhere!  I’m more of a body cream gal and I can’t get enough of this.  It keeps my skin moist long after applying and isn’t oily feeling.

Clearly I’ve tried a few of Beautycounter’s products!  I can honestly say I’m so impressed with the quality and performance of the products.  If you want to check out more products that they carry, click here!  Also, don’t forget to check out my first post I did on Beautycounter here. And check out the new men’s line!  What’s your favorite Beautycounter product?

Beauty Heroes: January Discovery- Jane Scrivner

Beauty Heroes January Discovery

Beauty Heroes January Discovery with Jane Scrivner products

I was so excited to try this brand out.  I hadn’t tried anything that she’s made and I knew I was in for a special treat.  Let’s just say I was not disappointed!  I can’t wait to share all the details with you!  But before I do, if you’re not familiar with Beauty Heroes Clean Beauty Box- allow me to introduce you here.

Jane Scrivner products are so adaptable. Going from in the spa treatment room to your counter sink at home.  Her approach to skincare is both down to earth and results driven.  She is known for her 5-A-Day Facial Routine.  I love that her products are loved from such a wide variety of people.  I couldn’t wait to dig into them!

Heroic Product: Cleansing Balm + Two Fluffy Cleansing Mitts- The heroic product is just that, heroic.  It definitely stands out among other cleansing balms I’ve used.  I just use about a dime size amount and rub in circular motions all over my skin.  I then use the fluffy cleansing mitt, get it damp and wipe all the excess balm off my skin. I’m left with balanced skin, that feels hydrated but not oily.  It feels like butter on the skin, it has such a great slip to it.  Made with jojoba oil, beeswax and 9 essential oils, this is the first step in Jane’s 5-A-Day Facial Routine.  If you struggle with dry skin- I can’t recommend this enough- such a great cleanser especially for dry winter months.  Plus, who doesn’t want a fluffy cleansing mitt! This mitt is divine.  I love slipping my hand in it to easily remove all the cleansing balm.

Sidekick: OO Cream- This cream is no sidekick in my opinion. It really stands on it’s own so well.  It’s a bright golden orange hue from rosehip.  I was so excited to see how this would stack up to other moisturizers.  Well, I was impressed- very impressed.  I’ve now been using this every night since I got it in the mail and can’t stop!  It’s SO hydrating.  Some creams leave your skin hydrated for a minute but this one lasts.  It really sinks into the skin so nicely.  I wake up in the morning and my skin still feels supple and moisturized, but not oily- I repeat not oily.  Can I talk to you about the scent?  I love the scent.  It smells like vanilla- soothing and warm vanilla. It’s really an amazing product!  If you’ve been looking for a cream to truly hydrate your skin in this winter season or any time- this is it.  I can’t stop and won’t stop using it!

Best part is you can get this fabulous box right now for such a steal!  This box is valued at $98 but you can snag it for $42.95.  This really is such stellar box- I wouldn’t be surprised if they sell out!  Hop on it now if you’re thinking of getting it.  Get Beauty Heroes January Discovery here!

The Clean Beauty Box(formerly Art Of Organics): January Box Rescue

Clean Beauty Box Review

The Clean Beauty Box January Discovery Rescue.

One Love Organics Vitamin C Serum- So excited to see One Love Organics Vitamin C Serum. This serum is unlike anything I’ve used. It is a rich hearty face serum, that really delivers some serious skin nutrients. With plant ingredients like rosehip, baobab, and acerola + seabuckthorn that help bring the plant based vitamin c. Your skin will feel glowing and radiant! It sinks right into the skin and gives your face an overall soft hydrated feeling. The smell is very light too with subtle hints of rosemary. I apply this right before my oils, while my skin is slightly damp and it soaks right in. It’s a different formula too because it has 2 difference types of vitamin C. The first is green tea seed oil and the Vitamin E and ascorbyl palmitate. A double punch to help fight free radicals and keep your skin in tip top shape!

Henne Organics Luxury Lip Balm and Lip Mask- I have tried their lip balm in the past and loved it. It’s so nice that it’s in a stick form, making it easy to apply to the lips without getting your fingers all messy. Plus, it hydrates for a long time! The ingredients are amazing too. The lip mask is meant to be applied on the lips and left for 15-30 minutes. It is meant to rejuvenate your lips and give them a little tlc. With ingredients like sea buckthorn and evening primrose, your lips will literally be all ready for some serious smooching! I loved how hydrated my lips felt afterwards. Such a treat for the lips.

This box is perfect for the winter dry months when your skin could use some r&r. The box is valued at $131, but you can get it right now for $41.95! Such a great box and the price is amazing! Snag the The Clean Beauty Box here!

Glow Inner Beauty Powder- This organic superfood blend was created by Carla Oates. She struggled with eczema and allergies and was finally able to find solutions after seeing a naturopath.  After finding healing herself she created a line of probiotic rich superfoods.  I love the connection she brings to glowing skin and whole nutrient dense foods.  Her Glow Inner Beauty Powder is the perfect marriage of gut boosting superfoods and skin balancing nutrients.  You can add this to smoothies, water, on top of yogurt, really the list is endless.  The ingredients speak for themselves, from maqui berry, green tea powder, ginger and turmeric.  The perfect antidote to kick off your new year full of health!

Collagen Inner Beauty Boost- This pairs perfectly with the Glow Inner Beauty Powder.  Use it in smoothies, water or your fave dessert.  Great for skin elasticity and overall firmness.  A combination of zinc and vitamin c work together to help strengthen hair and nails.  Also, helps to protect the skin from free radicals and environmental damage through antioxidants. It even helps the gut with powerful probiotics.  You could say this little bottle does a lot!

The Best Of Clean Beauty 2018

The Best Of Clean Beauty 2018

We are at it again with the best of clean beauty 2018!  My girl Lisa from the blog This Organic Girl and I are dishing up our faves this year in clean and natural beauty.  This is our third year in a row and the post always seems to be a crowd favorite.

Clean Living Natural

Join the 5 Day Clean Living Challenge and start living your best natural life!

I’m going to give you a quick run down on some past favorites too that we can’t stope reaching for, plus some personal picks that I’ve tried and Lisa hasn’t.  But before I do, I wanted to share a little about two places that keep me well stocked when it comes to clean and natural beauty products.

The first is The Detox Market–

best of clean beauty

Just some of the clean beauty you can find at detox market!

This was the very first green beauty store I shopped at.  I still remember angels singing when I visited the actual store in L.A.  Ok, maybe angels weren’t singing but it felt like I had arrived in green beauty heaven!  They have ALL the brands and more.  You want some Josh Rosebrook- they’ve got you covered.  Need some Osmia Organics in your life, sister they have it.  Want some Odacite?  No problem- they have the whole line.  It’s your one stop shop for all things natural beauty!  They have a list of ingredient standards, which lists ingredients they don’t allow in their formulations, so you can be sure your products are squeaky clean.

I remember hearing about their pop up shop in 2010- I was salivating to go!  It was at the same time I had started to detox my beauty products.  It’s so crazy to think where The Detox Market is today!  There’s so many natural options, compared to 8 years ago.  I love their mission on educating the consumer and bringing awareness.  Forever a Detox Market fan!  You can basically get any clean beauty product from their store.

Also, I love Boxwalla!

best of clean beauty

Love this clean beauty box by Boxwalla. It hits all the marks when it comes to a clean beauty box.

This is a clean beauty box that you can get bi-monthly. In case you’re not familiar with Boxwalla allow me to introduce you.  This box delivers some of the best of green beauty.  I find that’s what sets them apart from other green beauty boxes is their thoughtful curations.  I always find they go out on a limb and really find brands and artisans that I haven’t heard of- which I love!  If you’re into trying new brands and discovering people that truly love their craft- this box is for you.  I also love that this box is bi-monthly versus every month.  It helps me to savor each box and really get to know the products.  Their selections are always cruelty free as well.  The products are also free of certain ingredients according to Boxwalla standards.  You can find the specific ingredients they avoid here. Another reason I love getting behind this box!  Plus, don’t get me started on their actual boxes the products come in- seriously next level.  I keep each box and give them to others with gifts in them because they’re so gorgeous!  Read below on how their boxes are made. A quote from Boxwalla’s website:

Each box containing Boxwalla goodies is carefully crafted from tree-free handmade paper. A small company in India makes the paper for us, from cotton scraps, using the traditional art of paper-making that involves 9 steps and takes several weeks. The handmade paper is then meticulously fashioned into the boxes that you see in the pictures. The whole process is completely child labor free and employs 63 local villagers and 20 skilled artisans whose families have been making paper for generations. We love supporting socially and environmentally conscious businesses such as these: They craft beautiful products while preserving traditional crafts and skills that would otherwise be completely lost.

Here are past favorites of Lisa and I that we can’t get away from:

best of clean beauty 2018

Lisa and I wearing the beloved Mermaid Mask by Leahlani skincare.

Ok, on to the BEST OF CLEAN BEAUTY 2018!

  • Moss Skincare Beurre Céleste Honey Antioxidant Infusion Recovery Mask in Cleansing Baume- It was love at first swipe when I used this cleansing mask/balm.  It comes in a balm form and quickly melts in your hands and removes makeup and grime so effortlessly. Your skin feels so clean, and not stripped in any way.  I often use it in the mornings and leave it on my skin while I brush my teeth.  Such a unique formula too because it’s completely waterless- so no preservative!
  • African Botanics Fleurs de’Afrique- An amazing plant based retinol oil that my skin LOVES!  I literally have seen a brightness in my skin and hyper pigmentation fade- no joke.  If you got it, then you know what I’m talking about.  I discovered this in a Boxwalla box- they are always dishing out the good stuff.
  • Kosas Lipstick- These lipsticks are the best.  To own a Kosas lipstick is to love it!  These are pigmented, long lasting and moisturizing.  I almost have all 8 colors in the collection and there isn’t a bad color.
  • Odacite Lip Serum- I had never used a lip serum like this on my lips until Odacite’s.  It helps to hydrate, minimize fine lines on the lips and plump.  I love applying as my last step in my skincare routine.  My lip’s nightly nightcap!
  • Laurel Sun Damage Repair Serum- This is a serum and oil in one that helps to repair sun damaged skin.  The formula contains 27 whole organic plants!  It helps to reverse the signs of aging that the sun brings.  It also helps to brighten and fade age spots.  The oil feels richer on the skin but it also seeps right in.  When I used it I noticed a decrease in overall redness, faded sun spots and clearer skin tone.
  • Khus Khus Modern Herbal Fusion + RASA Restorative Potion- This is such a unique body cream. Not only does it contain adaptogenic herbs but Ayurvedic and Western nervine herbs as well.  It helps to bring a calm to the nervous system.  It feels so soothing and healing!  Plus, my skin feels so hydrated as well.
  • True Botanicals Cellular Repair Serum, Antioxidant Booster and Vitamin C Booster- The Cellular Repair Serum is designed to reverse the cellular damage caused by sun exposure and aging.  Pretty sure everyone wants to sign up for that-am I right?!  Besides reversing cellular damage it also replenishes moisture and plumps up skin.  It’s highly concentrated and goes past the surface of the skin to really get to the cellular level.  This Vitamin C Booster treatment is preserved in it’s freshest form.  Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to even skin tone, brighten and fade wrinkles, stimulate collagen, plus firm and repair skin.  I mean every face needs this stuff.  You might be wondering why it comes in a powder form.  When vitamin c is mixed with a liquid it slowly loses potency.  By keeping it in powder form you can be assured it’s in it’s freshest form.  The Antioxidant Booster is similar to the Vitamin C Booster but it uses apple peel powder instead, which has actually been shown to be more powerful then Vitamin C!  It helps brighten dark spots, even out skin tone and firm skin.
  • Sappho Brow Pomade- When my beloved brow cream that I had been using for a couple year from Hynt was reformulated I was back to the drawing board to find one that worked just as good!  Thankfully Sappho answered my prayers.  This works so well. Leaves my brows looking natural and so easy to apply.  I wear the color dark brown black.
  • Honest Beauty Mascara- If you’ve followed me for a hot minute you know I’m OBSESSED with this mascara!  It’s the best I’ve found in green beauty. It gives my lashed definition, length and drama.  Plus, you can get it on Amazon and it’s under $15!  I know- we hit the jackpot with this one.
  • Osmia Body Oil- I can’t get enough of Osmia’s Body Oil.  It’s like the biggest drink of water for your body.  Your skin will thank you and so will your mind as you wrap yourself in this goodness.  I apply mine right out of the shower or bath and my skin stays silky smooth all day.  I love the Night Oil scent- with notes of lavender, roman chamomile and atlas cedarwood. But if you don’t like scent you would love their naked oil- it has no essential oils in it.
  • Maya Chia The Optimist Hydrating Essence- I get SO excited for any new Maya Chia product and The Optimist was no exception.  This gem is housed in a dark glass bottle, preserving every last drop of goodness.  Smells divine with hints of neroli, sweet orange, and ylang ylang.  The formula itself feels so hydrating on the skin and refreshing with white tea, antioxidants, fatty acids and phytonutrients- just to name a few.  I can’t forget the actual spray function.  It works so well!  I know it might sound funny, but after truing hundreds of mists in my day, the spray function is actually quite important.  You don’t want the mist to feel like it’s attacking your skin or spraying you in the eye!  The Optimist sprays so well all over the face.  The founder Susanne nailed it!

best of clean beauty

Honest Beauty Mascara is my favorite green beauty mascara.

Here are some favorites of mine that I discovered this year and I can’t not share:

  • Beautycounter’s Face Wipes- These wipes are the best I’ve found in green beauty.  They offer the perfect amount of moisture, and they remove all my makeup!  Plus, they’re biodegradeable.
  • Beauty counter’s Eye shadows- I love these shadows.  They get the best eye shadow award in clean beauty hands down!  They are so pigmented, go on smooth and stay on forever- the whole day.  Trust me- you will be hooked once you use them.  They are having a sale right now for 30% off their holiday eye palettes too!
  • Beautycounter’s Eye Makeup Remover- Ok, I seriously was so excited when I tried this eye makeup remover.  All you Mary Kay fans will get me.  Back in the day I used to be big Mary Kay Eye Makeup Remover devotee.  It was the best I found and since I stopped using it I’ve never even able to find a replacement. Until now!  This eye makeup remover works like a charm- can’t say it enough. If you like having an eye makeup remover- you’ll love this!
  • Ilia Eye Primer- I have finally found my favorite eye primer in clean beauty!  This magic little wand does not mess around.  It keeps my eye shadows in place the whole day, no creasing, or smudging.  I can’t recommend it enough.
  • Tata Harper’s Clarifying Mask- I had tried this once before this year but nothing more. It had been a small sample. Then I got a full jar and lets just say, it quickly dwindled!  This helps purify pores, detoxify the skin and leave you with an overall glow.  Can’t get enough!

3 Brands That Simplify Natural Living

3 Brands That Simplify Natural Living

So excited to share with you 3 brands that simplify natural living.  It’s easy to feel overwhelmed when detoxing your life.  Trust me I get it!  But it doesn’t have to be.  I like to break natural living into three categories.  The food we eat, the beauty products we use and household products.  These are some heavy hitters when it comes to toxic load.  Getting these detoxed is definitely a priority!  But where do you start?  What brands do you trust and what is effective.

Check out how to enter the GIVEAWAY happening in honor of my new website launch at the bottom of this post!

No worries, I got your back!  I’ve rounded out my top picks for where to get clean food for budget options, where to buy beauty products all in one place and what to use for your household products.  I’ve simplified the process for you!  These are tried and true and have worked not only for me but many of my peers and friends.

After all, detoxing your life shouldn’t feel like work but it should be exciting and fun!  I mean who wants toxins lurking in their food, house or beauty products?  I know you don’t!

Here’s the skinny on 3 brands that always deliver-

The Detox Market-

Detox Market Natural Beauty

Find the best in green beauty at The Detox Market!

Some Favorites At Detox-

Vitacost-

Vitacost organic pantry

Find all your favorite clean eating and organic food pantry staples at Vitacost.

I started using Vitacost for over a year now and let’s just say I haven’t looked back!  If you haven’t heard of Vitacost allow me to bring you up to speed.  Vitacost is your one stop shop for all healthy and clean dry goods.  Think pantry staples!  Plus, they have some great household items too.  I love stocking up on all my favorite natural brands through Vitacost.  I save so much money when I purchase them there.  Plus, they’re always offering some sort of coupon code to save even more through email.

I’ve been so impressed with their customer service, and timely delivery of my orders.  I place an order a month and I never have had any broken or damaged items.  I used to shop at other online retailers and I had several products break constantly.  They carry all my favorite natural brands.  I also love that I don’t have to pay a yearly membership to receive the discounts.

Some Favorites At Vitacost-

Branch Basics-

Branch Basics review

Branch Basics makes simple and clean household products that are effective.

I have fallen for this brand!  I started to try all their products 6 months ago and have loved each one!  They make detoxing your cleaning and household products so easy and simple!  From the cleaner you use to clean your counters, bathrooms, laundry detergent and windows.  It doesn’t need to be toxic to clean!  Their whole mission on why they started is so cool.  Each founder had their own awakening moment that made them realize the impact our environments have on our lives.  Read all about the founder and their journey’s here!

Branch Basics products are based off their concentrate- which is made from plant and mineral based. I love how simple it is. You basically can remove all your cleaning products with one product- their concentrate.  They give you the bottles to easily make window cleaner from it, countertop cleaner, laundry detergent, bathroom cleaner and even hand wash!  It is hypo-allergenic, peanut free, gluten free, fragrance free, and contains no toxic stabilizers, preservatives, brighteners or surfactants.  It removes grease, dirt, dust and grime.  They’ve made the whole process so simple for people to transition from toxic household cleaners to non-toxic.  Can’t recommend them enough!

Some Favorites At Branch Basics-

  • Concentrate- This is the plant and mineral based cleaner that does it all!
  • Oxygen Booster- Helps to create an abrasive when added to tubs, toilets or sinks.  I also like adding it to heavily soiled laundry for a boost.
  • Trial Kit- Great to try before buying a large bottle or kit!
  • Mini All Purpose Spray Bottle- Perfect for traveling or on the go.
  • Starter Kits- These give you everything you need to completely overhaul your household cleaning products and start with nontoxic products.
