Here are some facts about what makes certifications important. The GOTS Certification (Global Organic Textile Standard) ensures that their mattresses are:
- Made from organically grown, harvested, and processed materials
- Manufactured in our facility in an environmentally and socially responsible way
- Labeled and stored in our facility in a way that is easily trackable
Similarly, the GOLS (Global Organic Latex Standard) certification ensures that the latex we use in our mattresses is:
- *Harvested from the sap of organic rubber trees
- *Processed in an organic and environmentally friendly way
- *Manufactured in our facility in a way that meets organic standards
Having the GOTS and GOLS Factory certifications means you can literally trace all materials back to the original farms and lots where they were grown. My Green Mattress is consistently audited to ensure that they are complying with the certification standards. I love knowing that My Green Mattress not only has these certifications but that they are routinely inspected. It gives me peace of mind as I’m sleeping at night. Plus, they are a family-owned factory, which I love supporting!
Besides their 3rd party certifications, I also like to see this list of chemicals they avoid in their mattresses:
NO Chemical Flame Retardants or Flame Retardant Barriers
NO Memory Foam or other forms of Polyurethane Foam
NO Soybean or Biobased Foam (polyurethane foam with soybean oil mixed in)
NO Harmful Glues or Chemical Adhesives
NO GMO Cotton or other GMO fibers

My Green Mattress Natural Escape
After looking at their mattresses I chose the My Green Mattress Natural Escape. I wanted something that would be more on the soft side and really offer the support I was looking for. The Natural Escape Mattress fit all my requirements.
So how does it feel when sleeping on it? I thought you would never ask! As my husband says- it’s super comfortable! He said not only is it super comfortable but his back has never hurt when sleeping on it, it keeps him cool at night and he never wakes up. Now if you know my husband then this is saying a lot. He gets hot very easily and wakes up often when he is.
I second his sentiments. It feels very comfortable, I feel like my whole body is supported at night and that I get a deep sleep. I was concerned it might be a too firm mattress, but it isn’t at all. I’ve heard great things about their organic latex topper. And I initially thought about getting one as well, but really I don’t think I even need one. Maybe down the road but it feels so nice without it. I would recommend trying it out first without it and then seeing if you need a mattress topper once you sleep on it for several nights.

My Green Mattress Kiwi Bunk Bed Mattress
Recentlty we upgraded our older girls to bunk beds and were on the hunt for organic mattresses that would fit the bunk bed frame. My Green Mattress came through!
My Green Mattress Kiwi Bunk Bed Mattress is the perfect dimensions for the bunk bed frame – it’s a twin-size mattress and the dimensions are 38in X 75in X 8in. Giving some room at the top of the bunk for added safety for my oldest. It also gives a little extra room overall with the frame and the mattress when putting sheets and comforters on. Â
This is a firm supportive mattress overall. It definitely feels so good laying on, and my kids both sleep soundly on them. I love knowing that they are sleeping on an organic mattress that is made with soft, GOTS certified organic cotton and GOTS certified organic wool.
The wool acts as a flame retardant, instead of the chemical flame retardants that are found in conventional mattresses.
It also seems very durable, a mattress they will have for years and years to come. Plus, it comes with an affordable price tag for an organic mattress, the quality is superb and the overall dimensions fit a bunk bed perfectly. It hits all the marks and is truly the best bunk bed mattress.
