Non toxic cleaning products are a must in my household. Add in a brand that takes sustainability efforts to the next level and Blueland has really caught my eye. Plus, after testing and loving their dishwasher tablets, I knew I needed to do a full Blueland Review and check out their full lineup of products.

Blueland Cleaning Products
Sarah Paiji Yoo, co-founder and CEO of Blueland, began a journey of limiting single use plastic after having her first child. When she discovered that microplastics were all around us, including in the water and food she was feeding her baby, she knew she had to do better. But, if it was just her doing better that wouldn’t be enough. She wanted to make it easier for everyone to use less single-use plastic. And from there, Blueland was born!
Blueland was founded in 2019 and that same year they were featured on an episode of Shark Tank. They were even able to accept a deal from Kevin O’Leary, aka Mr. Wonderful, for a 3% stake in the company. And since this deal, Blueland has launched over 10 products and diverted over 1 billion single-use plastic bottles from our landfills and oceans!
Blueland has a mission to
‘make it easy to be eco with innovative products in reusable packaging that are convenient, effective and affordable.’
They offer non toxic cleaning products and even some personal care products. Their business model uses a ‘refill’ type philosophy.
For the cleaning products, you have one forever bottle and you will purchase refill tablets (that you mix with water)- no shaking or stirring makes it so easy! The tablets aren’t wrapped in any sort of plastic either!
Blueland also has many 3rd party certifications that I love to see in a brand. These include:
- B Corp Certified
- Climate Neutral Certified (since 2020)
- Cradle to Cradle Certified
- EPA Safer Choice
- USDA BioPreferred
- EWG Verified (powder dish soap, dishwasher detergent tablet, and laundry detergent tablets)
- Leaping Bunny
Are Blueland cleaning products non toxic?
Blueland products are made without parabens, phosphates, ammonia, VOCs, chlorine bleach, or phthalates. They are also vegan, gluten-free, soy and nut-free.
In looking closer at the ingredients in the Blueland cleaning products, I did note two that I wanted to point out.
- Fragrance: I have an email to the brand to check on what their fragrance contains. I will update once I have heard back. It states on their website it is “Developed without any known allergens and without any Prop 65 ingredients” and it is a natural/synthetic blend. But, Blueland does offer products that are fragrance free if you are looking to avoid this. The Our Glass + Mirror Cleaner, Dish Soap, Dishwasher Tablets and Laundry tablets are fragrance free. The Oxi Laundry Booster has a fragrance free option. The Multi-Surface Spray, Bathroom Spray and Toilet Cleaner are only available in scented options currently.
- Colorants: The other ingredient I didn’t love seeing in their products are colorants in their sprays. This is what they state on their website, “Biodegradable material to give cleaners their color (so you know which is which) without heavy metal dyes.” I wish they didn’t use colorants at all. Not sure why they can’t just color the reusable bottles without the dye in the actual tablet? We also emailed them about this and are waiting to hear a response.

Blueland’s Sustainability Efforts
Blueland’s sustainability efforts are truly a step above and what makes this brand a true stand out. Considering that the basis of the brand was to help minimize single use plastics, you know you aren’t going to find any of that with Blueland. Plus they don’t ship any water or use packaging that often ends up in the landfills.
- Forever Bottles: The product bottles they offer are meant to be used again and again. From reusable Tritan and glass bottles that are BPA and antimony free, to silicone and steel Forever Tins you won’t find any plastic here.
- Packaging: Blueland uses recyclable shipping boxes, paper based tape, refills are in compostable packaging, and water based inks are used. In fact, ALL of of their packaging is either recyclable or compostable, or even both! They also don’t use plastic to wrap up their refill pods.
- Efficient Water & Energy Usage
- Carbon Neutral Shipping

Blueland Cleaning Product Review
*I got their Clean Suite Kit and I will be sharing a review of each of the cleaning products it contains. (foaming hand soap, laundry detergent, toilet bowl cleaner, dishwasher detergent, powder dish soap, multi-surface cleaner, bathroom cleaner and glass + mirror cleaner).
Foaming Hand Soap
A hydrating and foamy hand soap with your choice of scents: Iris Agave, Perrine Lemon, Lavender Eucalyptus, Pacific Mist, and Evergreen.
Cost
Starter Kit: (forever bottle + 3 refill tablets): $15
Refills: $12+ ($2.25-$2.50 per tablet)
Review
This foaming hand soap comes with a reusable glass bottle and 1 foaming hand soap tablet. You just add water and the tablet to the glass bottle and you have a lemony hand soap!
Once you buy the bottle, you can have foaming hand soap for $2.25! To start off you would purchase the starter set which is $15+ and then once you have the reusable bottle you would only pay $12+ after that.
I love the sleek glass bottle that comes with the kit from both a sustainability standpoint, but also that it just looks nice on the counter. I love the foaming aspect too. The pump didn’t get clogged and I feel like soaps tend to last longer when they are foamy versus just liquid. Anyone else? The whole idea of making it again with just a tablet is brilliant!
Laundry Detergent Tablets
A compact, eco-friendly laundry tablet that provides a powerful clean without the plastic waste. Toss one into the machine drum, or double up for larger loads, and watch stains vanish with ease.
Cost
Starter Kit: (tin + 60 refill tablets): $20+
Refills: $19+ (.32-.35 per tablet)
Review
The laundry tabs come in a brown bag and then you transfer them to the canister they provide. The canister is nice and doesn’t take up a lot of space which I love. That is one of Bluelands top priorities is making products that take up less space overall.
$20 initially for the tin and refill pack. A refill pack on its own is $19. So not a huge savings.
I was impressed with how well a small little tablet cleaned our laundry! The tablets are unscented, but my clothes still smelled fresh and clean. I love the idea of taking these with me when I travel for less mess. I didn’t use more than one tablet, however I did read where some people used two tablets for heavily soiled laundry.
Dishwasher Tablets
Experience dishwashing with these innovative tablets, devoid of plastic waste. Crafted with eco-friendly ingredients, these compact gems effortlessly tackle grease and food stains while saving space in your kitchen.
Cost
Starter Kit: (tin + 60 refill tablets): $20

The dishwasher set also comes in the kit. This includes a tin for the tablets and then the refill pouch with the tablets.
The Dishwasher Set is 20+ and the refill pack is $19+ (use subscribe and save to get these better prices!)
I love the Dishwasher tabs! I had already reviewed them in my Nontoxic Dishwasher Detergent Post- this is the product that introduced me to Blueland. They work so great. I didn’t have any residue left on my dishes after using them. Love that they come in a tin too- so easy to just pop into the dishwasher.

Review
These come in a refill pouch with the tablets and then a tin as well to store them in.
These are genius and totally worth it. I love that they give off a lemony scent. Nothing too overwhelming but light. They help to neutralize bad odors in the toilet as well as helping to really clean them. I find I use less product overall compared to other toilet products. I like that I just have to drop one in and it’s done.

This spray is the ultimate in home cleaning and is an eco-friendly Multi-Surface Cleaner. Just add water, drop in a tablet, and enjoy a powerful cleaner crafted from plant-based ingredients, ensuring a spotless home and a cleaner planet.

Review
The Starter Set comes with a plastic bottle and a refill pouch with tablets. You add the water and tablet to make the cleaning solution.
As a mom of four I love a good multi-purpose spray! I use this on so many things! For spills, floors, counters, it works on it all. The fresh lemon scent is welcoming. I also love the whole sustainability piece! It really just makes sense how easy they make it to just fill it up with water and drop a tab in.
Bathroom Spray
Revolutionize your bathroom cleaning routine with these eco-friendly refill tablets. Crafted from plant-based ingredients, each tablet transforms into 24oz of powerful Bathroom Cleaner spray, leaving your space sparkling clean with a refreshing Eucalyptus Mint scent.
Cost

Review
The Bathroom Spray comes in the kit as well with a reusable bottle that is pink and a refill pouch with tablets. Same idea, add water and then add the tablet to make the cleaning solution.
The scent on the bathroom cleaner is a eucalyptus mint. It actually doesn’t smell like this to me but smells more florally to me. It’s so strange! I love how well it cleaned my bathroom. From the toilet seats to the counters and sinks, even the floor. There were no streaks. The only thing I’m not a fan of is the scent.
Glass + Mirror Spray
Achieve a streak-free shine with Blueland’s Glass + Mirror Cleaner, free from harsh chemicals. Simply add water, drop in a tablet, and enjoy crystal-clear surfaces and windows, thanks to its plant-based formula.
Cost
Starter Kit: (forever bottle + 2 multi-surface tablets): $13+
Refills: $5+ ($2.25-$2.50 per tablet)
Review
The Glass + Mirror Spray comes in the kit as well with a reusable bottle that is blue and a refill pouch with tablets. Same idea, add water and then add the tablet to make the cleaning solution.
I was really impressed with the Glass + Mirror Spray! It worked so well on my mirrors and windows. No streaks. It also worked really well on my stainless steel appliances in my kitchen! I took a before and after of my fridge and it was crazy how good it looked after!
How can you save money when purchasing Blueland products?
Blueland products are reasonably priced for what you are getting, but the best part is that you can save even more using a few of these hacks.
- Purchase a kit vs single products. If you purchase any of their kits you will get more bang for your buck. For example, if you purchase The Clean Essentials you will save 20% off of the bundle. The Clean Suite Set offers a 33% savings vs individual starter kits.
- Subscribe and Save. So many brands offer this option and it is a great way to not only save, but to also never run out of your home essentials.
- Use your own spray bottles. If you already have your own spray bottles at home, you can skip purchasing Bluelands Forever Bottles and just get the refill packs. However, you should note that Blueland does recommend you use their Forever Bottles as they are designed for great user experience and to be used again and again.
Where can you buy Blueland cleaning products?
I especially love that Blueland products are widely available. You can find them in the following locations:
- Blueland website
- Amazon
- Thrive Market
- Target
- Costco
- Container Store
- Erewhon
Conclusion: Are Blueland products worth it?
I do love the concept of Blueland and their sustainability efforts. They really have thought of so much when it comes to space saving cleaning products and ditching one time use plastics. For me personally, I would still like to see them toss the fragrance overall and lose the colorants and the brand would pass with flying colors! Not saying I wouldn’t use them, but I am drawn to other sustainable cleaning products that don’t use fragrance or colorants.
