Nécessaire – The Hand Cream
This hand cream has niacinamide to moisturizer, marula oil to nourish, and peptides to protect the skin on your hands. It will defend against environmental stressors. It is also fast absorbing and leaves my hands feeling so silky smooth – it has quickly become my go to hand cream. I will share more details below.
The good news is with a few lifestyle changes and one of the best natural hand creams, you can say goodbye to dry, cracked skin. Check out all my other top picks below!
Why do our hands get so dry?
If you think about all that our hands get exposed in any single day, it’s not surprising they may need more care than the rest of our body. Here are a few factors into why you want to invest in organic hand creams:
- Harsh Weather conditions. Cold weather and dry climates can wreak havoc on our skin – the winter months are an especially tough time of year!
- Frequent Hand Washing (even worse if you are using a hand soap that is stripping your skin’s microbiome). This includes the overuse of hand sanitizers. Symptoms can be “quite mild to debilitating, including dryness, irritation, itching, and even cracking and bleeding.”
- UV damage not only causes dry skin, but can show up as fine lines and wrinkles, pigment changes, and thinning of the skin. Unfortunately, we may not consider sunscreen for our hands in the same way we do our face and the rest of the body.
All this to be said, our hands are also going through the natural aging process. This includes loss of elastin and collagen as well as fat and thinning of the outer layer of skin.
And with a little extra care with one of my favorite hand creams, you will notice that your hands can remain hydrated and can age gracefully!

Tips To Keep Your Hands Moisturized
Just a few lifestyle modifications along with swapping out a few personal care products will make such a difference in the delicate skin on your hands. Here are a few easy places to start:
- Use a gentle hand soap that won’t strip your skin and avoid hot water. Also, don’t over-wash your hands. This is my favorite microbiome-friendly hand wash (use code GGG15 to save 15%).
- After washing (or as needed throughout the day) use a good hand cream. It doesn’t take much time to do, but will make all the difference in the health of the skin on your hands.
- Use a sunscreen as needed when in direct sunlight
- Protect your hands from the cold with the use of gloves/mittens when in cold conditions.
- Keep yourself hydrated. When our bodies become dehydrated, our skin shows it so ensure you are drinking enough water throughout the day.
- Consider any type of product your hand consistently comes in contact with (such as dish soap or cleaning products). You may be surprised at what you find on the ingredient lists of your favorite products that could be contributing to your dry hands. A great way to avoid this is to utilize gloves when using these items or better yet, swap out your products for better options. Check out my favorite dish soap here that has no irritating ingredients!
Pro Tip: Anytime I do my morning or nighttime skincare routine, I make sure to use any excess face moisturizer or other product that I have on the backs of my hands. This an easy way to not waste the product, and provide some nourishment for your hands!

I really like how this has a subtle citrus scent, nothing overwhelming. It soaks right into my hands after application. I can keep doing tasks at hand and not feel like I have to let my hands dry because they’re greasy. My hands also feel moisturized for quite a while afterward too. While it’s still $14, it is the lowest price point I found for clean and effective ingredients.

My Review
I’ve been using this for years and years! It’s the first natural hand cream that really stopped me in my tracks. My sister in law had recommended it and after using it I was hooked. It’s been around since 1926! A cult fave for sure. It sinks into the skin and really provides lasting moisture. No heavy scent at all, just a good basic hand lotion that does the job. A little more oily initially but sinks in fairly quickly.

This is definitely a pricier hand cream but it’s full of a lot more actives than a traditional hand cream. I don’t have any visible dark spots on my hands yet, so I can’t speak to it directly brightening my hands, but I can say that it is very moisturizing! My hands felt smoother overall and I did see a brightness. I definitely recommend if you do have mature skin and want to combat signs of aging on your hands!
Use Code GGG20 for 20% off your entire order (minimum purchase of $50). One use per customer and can’t be combined with other offers.

I tried this hand cream last year and instantly fell for it! It’s a rich cream but doesn’t feel oily- really hits all the marks. I love how my hands feel so soft after using it has a very pleasant scent – a subtle citrus. It also is easy to squeeze out the product. Some hand creams can start to get hard to squeeze out towards the end of the tube. Also, the longevity of this hand cream is awesome – definite bonus points for that! Hands felt moisturized even after hand washes.

I really, really love this hand cream! It is such a luxurious hand cream. I apply this at night before bed and wake up with perfectly hydrated hands. I also will apply it at my desk while I’m working when my hands need a pick me up. It isn’t greasy or oily feeling. The formula sinks right in and you’re left with smooth, soft hands. The scent is a mix of jasmine, vanilla, and lemon. Uplifting and soothing at the same time. It’s so good!

I discovered Naked Hand Cream over a year ago and have one stowed in my purse at all times. I like that it isn’t scented, so I can even use it on my baby or kids without thinking about scent. It’s also nice to not have an overwhelming scent to a hand cream at times when you’re in public and don’t want to smell up an area when you apply it. The ingredients are basic and are nourishing to the skin.

This hand cream has really simple ingredients and smells like vanilla (I got the Ugandian Vanilla + Ethiopian Honey). Each of their scents is inspired by African countries. I love the scent I chose. I’m a sucker for vanilla and this one really delivers. I like how my hands feel hydrated, however, it was a tad greasy initially when applying the product. It also was hard to get out of the tube. Not my favorite out of the bunch for those reasons, but I would still use it.
